Re: Your opinion on the Daiwa's Zero Adjuster

I’m an old fart that learned decades ago on Ambassadeur reels. The cast control was the only adjustment you had, and adjusted it every time you changed lures. So that’s always been my primary adjustment on a casting reel, the magnetic brakes are secondary. I don’t care for the zero adjuster at all, ...

Be careful, that is one DEEP rabbit hole.

Thanks, I already have several pixies. The only one I lack is the orange version, and I have a custom painted orange Sol.

I’ve already decided it’s time to quit buying tackle and start fishing more :D

My first attempt at a Pixilla

I started with a lightly used Silver Pixy, added a Ray's spool and upgraded bearings and a Carbontex drag. Instead of a TDZ line guide, I decided to try one from an Alphas. Added a carbon fiber handle, old style cork knobs and a few red dress up parts. https://i.imgur.com/Ia0qCwG.jpg https://i.imgur...

Purple huh? Might be a good rod to pair with a TD Ito reel.

Re: Dark Sleeper as dropshot rig weight

Not a bad idea, kind of expensive though. I’m planning to try using a tube jig as a drop shot weight.

Which model of Edge rod? I don't fish salt water, but one of mine is an inshore rod, love it.

Re: Flipped my yak

Nice, you might consider a Kilroy or Tripper 12 (stripped Kilroy). The hull is the same as the Cuda, but it’s a hybrid sit inside. More stable, plus TONS of storage both behind you and in front of you. I had my Tripper for 3 years and only dumped it once, there’s a “whitewater park” on a local river...

Re: Speaking of Pixies

I wonder if the Line Guide for the Red Fuego would be the same part number? I have a Fuego and the line guide looks the same, but who knows maybe they are still available for a reasonable price.

I just bought a silver pixy and plan t use the $10 PX Type R line guide (red) on it.

Hopefully a made in the USA version.
They already make that--the regular Zman bait with crappy components is made in South Carolina.

I should have said “not made in China”

Re: Ever Been Spooled?

Twice, once it was a big catfish (I think), and the other time it was a big carp in a river. I saw the carp, could have been a Buffalo, I was able to get close to it before it knew it was hooked. Both times was on a Roadrunner.

Is that one of the Lamiglas honey blanks? I have one, but it’s a very limber rod and I rarely use it.

Re: 2-Power High End Casting Rods?

I’ve got an Edge 662-1, I really like but I don’t see it on the Edge website any more. It’s perfect for 1/4 and 3/16 spinnerbaits.

EDIT: it’s there, under inshore/walleye. And they have another one in the Silver widow line
