Re: Best Baitcasting Reels for both Salt- and Freshwater Fis
I can't speak for the new Curado I, but the E and G series have held up well for me over years of kayak fishing on the Gulf Coast, as well as the Chronarch E, which is essentially the Curado E. I also have a few of the Lews Team Pro reels that I use, they have held up pretty good so far, however, on...

Re: Possible Curado I issue?
I catch 5-25lb reds and 15-30lb Jacks on my Curado Gs all the time with no issue. I'm sure the I can handle it. This is a smaller 15-16lber to put it into perspective. I thing most reels are pretty good these days, it just comes down to durability of materials used. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: Anybody want to share their opinion on the Lews Team Pro
Now that i've had these reels for a while, and have had the chance to really put them through the paces, I thought i'd throw up another update. Other than a little corrosion, which turns out isn't really a big deal, these reels have been excellent. I wont go into detail on reel performance because t...

Re: Grrr... Curado I Question
If your handle is 10000mm or 10mm, one turn of the handle will always bring in the same IPT regardless of the handle. The speed in which you can rotate the handle decreases as the handle gets longer, but you gain more leverage on the shaft with the longer handle providing more "power". Again, physi...

Re: Inshore Spinning Reel
I don't know much about those reels, but if you're going to narrow your scope between only these two, i'd say the RawII because of the upgraded drag over the Cederos.tim3716 wrote:Yeah I might go that route. For now I think I will get either the Cederos or the Raw2. Which one would you choose?

Re: Inshore Spinning Reel
I do have other setups but I wanted to find a reel that could do most types of fishing. I was considering the battle but I am not sure about the drag when fishing for tautogs. I am not sure if you are familiar with tautog fishing but you need a beefy drag. Other people use 6000, 5000 stellas and sa...

Re: Inshore Spinning Reel
Ah, well that's bit of a game changer. A few more questions.. Are you casting bait and letting it sit, or continuously casting lures? If fishing bait, i'd go with a 4000, with lures, I think that i'd still pick a 3000 over a 4000. If you're only going to have one rod and reel, i'd pick the one that ...

Re: Inshore Spinning Reel
Personally, I would pick a good 3000 series reel with braid for good line capacity. Moving to the 4000 series usually means a substantial gain in weight and size. I would buy a reel the fills 85-90% of your fishing needs, because for me, it's not worth the trade off to cover the other 10-15%. Are yo...

Re: Inshore Spinning Reel
Depending on the size of fish you're going to be targeting, you might be better off with a 3000 series.
So, what are you fishing for?

Re: What's your favorite inshore casting reel?
Here is a list of the reels that I use inshore fishing. -Curado E -Curado G -Chronarch E -Lew's Team Pro I have very little issue with any sort of corrosion with any of the Curados or Chronachs. The Team Pro, on the other hand, shows a bit of corrosion, and in one area, it's pretty bad. It's the pin...

Depends on where you get them.H8R wrote:Isn't the "team pro" 300 dollars? Lol
Anyway, the Team Pros are the only Lew's reels that I own, and the only reels I can comment about.

Re: curado 200e5 - upgrade bearings?
I use gun scrubber or lighter fluid to clean, blow them out with compressed air, and follow that up with a drop of lube.
It doesn't have to be difficult. But in order to get all the grease out, sometimes you have to remove the shielding.
