Re: Curado 70 Drag

Maybe look into a Scorpion 70 drag stack, in the recent review they tested it to almost 18 lbs.

Re: Why does Shimano not produce a budget 50 size reel?

They also dont make a $100 reel with a metal frame. Go figure that one out. One of the largest markets out there is the $100 price point. Back in the D series day, they did make a Citica100D, and its a very sought after reel to this day. Even back then it was not really considered "budge...

Re: Curado 71 or Chronarch MGL?

This is a question I have wondered about for a while too. I still want to try my first Shimano baitcaster, just bought my second Zillion SV. I would use the possible Shimano Curado 70 or Chronarch MGL for similar lures; would it be better to try the cheaper Curado or go all the way and try the Chro...

Re: Spiral x technology

It's legit, when the original Poison Glorious line came out they released a DVD. In the DVD it shows in super slow motion this guy casting a regular blank vs a spiral x and high power x blank. You could clearly see the difference in blank twisting and wobbling on the regular blank. Blanks with spira...

Re: Met MGL

I don't think it has a different spool... JDM: 12lb / 100m (= 109,361yd) http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/reel/4353 USDM: 12lb / 110 yd http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fish/en/home/products/fishing-reels/baitcast/metanium-mgl.html Shouldn't a 70 size spool have less line capacity? Don't go ...

That depends on you, these reels can cast a long way so if you are using heavier line it may be an issue.

Actually the JDM version has a really shallow 70 size spool.

Re: Is anyone else dissapointed in Icast '17?

Shimano/Gloomis and Abu Garcia came with the fire, everyone else was meh.. Going to try out that Concept Z though, or at least see if the bearings will fit any of my existing reels. Abu didnt leak anything that I saw but they came out with the revamped Revo lineup(I knew it was coming but I expected...

Re: Tackle Trap/Pike Road Reel Service

Ouch, that sucks, Im sure Gary will make it right. Thats my greatest fear of sending out a reel, that it will come back with scratches and scuffs that I didnt do. You know how OCD some of us are about our tackle.

Re: DIY spool fir curado 70 on ebay

was it any good? i am considering getting a scorpion bfs but thought this might be a cheaper option I only fished it once with a 4 gram lure. I wasn't overly impressed from that one experience. It could be a great spool But I haven't had enough time on it to make a real statement on its performance.

Re: DIY spool fir curado 70 on ebay

i saw that. i had one for my 50e, and i just has to but the actual weights on the pins. the 70 is different so i did not know if it meant i had to pull the entire assembly off the shaft. how does one do that? I did the brake show swap, but photobucket removed the pics. It's really easy, just use ne...
