CFX carbon grips for sure. Absolute amazing material. Most sensitive, most light, durable and very good looking. \:D/
Yep. I've started rebuilding older rods with them. They just look and feel "right" to me.

A Z1016 would blow me away! Would test my sanity.
Only in our dreams unfortunately. I would have to splurge on one as well.

Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

Deps DR-100ZX and zillion type R. The type R really benefited from a 50th handle for this application. Unfortunately, I can be a slow learner and I had to go through 2 type R handles before I made this switch. That Deps is so sweet. I'm not a huge fan of the OG Zillion spool choices or I would have...

Re: Steez noise diagnosis help

Check the spool pin for damage. If it is scarred up it can cause the pinion to fail to engage fully. You can also try a different spool. HOLY $**T dude, you are the man. Swapped spools and could not duplicate the problem. Never would have considered this on my own. Gotta love TackleTour first post ...

Thanks guys. I will have to give it a go in my Steez and Zillion variants. Plan on doing a lot of Spinnerbait, Chatterbait, and Swim Jig fishing in 2020 - lures from 1/4 to 3/4 oz...
I think it is a spool you don't want to over fill with line also, but my memory is fuzzy.

Re: Daiwa Steez Air 2020

The T3 1016 spool is a classic and the FX73SV spool is pretty great as well. Off topic, sorry, but: What do you use the T3 1016 spool for? I have used mine in my T3 a few times but found that it needed quite heavy and aerodynamic lures to perform well. Maybe - probably - I just have not used the sp...

Re: Favorite paddletails?

I think I have had a few issues with the Keitech Easy Shiners, too, where I lose the paddle tail, reel back in a paraplegic. But, one that I will NOT fish around bluegills, if they are present, is a Yamamoto Single Tail Grub in a smaller size. It has the best swimming action of any such grub I have...

Re: J-Dream spool replacement

If you use Braid, the PE spool is great. Too shallow for mono/fluoro line though. I'd be happy to take that bent J-Dream spool off your hands if the price is right. Been looking for one for ages... DaveJ Not looking to get rid of it especially without a replacement. Just curious what you want to us...
