Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

Deps DR-100ZX and zillion type R. The type R really benefited from a 50th handle for this application. Unfortunately, I can be a slow learner and I had to go through 2 type R handles before I made this switch. That Deps is so sweet. I'm not a huge fan of the OG Zillion spool choices or I would have...

Re: Steez noise diagnosis help

Check the spool pin for damage. If it is scarred up it can cause the pinion to fail to engage fully. You can also try a different spool. HOLY $**T dude, you are the man. Swapped spools and could not duplicate the problem. Never would have considered this on my own. Gotta love TackleTour first post ...

Thanks guys. I will have to give it a go in my Steez and Zillion variants. Plan on doing a lot of Spinnerbait, Chatterbait, and Swim Jig fishing in 2020 - lures from 1/4 to 3/4 oz...
I think it is a spool you don't want to over fill with line also, but my memory is fuzzy.

Re: Daiwa Steez Air 2020

The T3 1016 spool is a classic and the FX73SV spool is pretty great as well. Off topic, sorry, but: What do you use the T3 1016 spool for? I have used mine in my T3 a few times but found that it needed quite heavy and aerodynamic lures to perform well. Maybe - probably - I just have not used the sp...

Re: Spool Advice

I’m looking for another but you want regret getting one Does it work well when casting too or mostly pitching? It’s does cast well But the sweetness is in the pitching It's there a better pitching spool for t-rigs and jigs? Maybe not. I'm curious how the Tat Elite P/F stacks up. The ZPI spools are ...

Re: Favorite paddletails?

I think I have had a few issues with the Keitech Easy Shiners, too, where I lose the paddle tail, reel back in a paraplegic. But, one that I will NOT fish around bluegills, if they are present, is a Yamamoto Single Tail Grub in a smaller size. It has the best swimming action of any such grub I have...

Re: J-Dream spool replacement

If you use Braid, the PE spool is great. Too shallow for mono/fluoro line though. I'd be happy to take that bent J-Dream spool off your hands if the price is right. Been looking for one for ages... Re: Daiwa tatula sv / tatula costal sv spool?

It doesn't appear to be a free floating spool so it could only be swapped with the new Tatula 100 or CT reels.

Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium

When the Bantam came out, people complained that the line guide was too close to the spool, affecting casting distance. Looking at this new Metanium, looks like the line guide is much closer to the spool compared to the 16 Met MGL. Makes me wondering if this new Met will actually outperform our old...

Re: Daiwa Sol Upgrades question

Thanks for the compliments and all the help. Also, thanks to IlliniDawg for the handle hookup! A few slight differences in the two oranges and in the light and dark gunmetal but I think it turned out great! Ready to give it a go with SV spool! Glad you like it. I had been trying to figure out what ...
