Re: SOLID! - The Shimano Bantam MGL Baitcaster

Good write-up. Confirms what other posters and reviewers have been saying. I don't understand why they didn't put a bit more thought into the line guide. It appears to me that there is plenty of room where they could have designed the guide ring to be a good centimeter or 2 farther forward without c...

Re: Impressive new Lurestar Rod, Wooden Handle

Looks like the images only worked for me. I guess DropBox changed their settings. I can't seem to get the images in a format that can be uploaded either without being too large. Maybe this formatting will work on dropbox... https://www.dropbox.com/s/p3yyc9gs91kfli3/IMG_20180907_141857.jpg?dl=0 https...

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)

Can someone give me a suggestion of how far you spool the line on the Curado/Scorpion DC reels? I filled it first to the bevel and it seemed to fluff very bad. I now have about 1/16 or 2 mm from the bottom edge of the bevel using 45lb Fins 40g braid. This does however has a mono equivalent diameter...

Re: Impressive new Lurestar Rod, Wooden Handle

looks slick but that rod butt will be destroyed in no time You think? I have a spare chair bumper I might cover it with in that case. The handle on mine has a lot of marbling. https://previews.dropbox.com/p/thumb/AAI7ic9DplBE0ldUh9jxNvtU9Ro_yxXcHbbkxUEg8ig-cN080c7OuYEyRb1gDT869vKeIK6Shl0xXoI_W_6qSw...

Impressive new Lurestar Rod, Wooden Handle

So I bought this rod on a lark from AliExpress last week during their sale for like $110 shipped. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Brand-New-Lurestar-High-quality-2-56M-Spinning-Casting-Rod-Bass-Fishing-Rod-ML-action/32859005696.html?spm=2114.search0604.3.51.39f8b648g5cmIq&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0...

Re: Daiwa SS Air vs Daiwa SV Light for BFS

I think most would be happier with a normal Daiwa reel of their choosing with a matching DIY spool than they would be with the SS Air. The SV Light, on the other hand, is pretty great from what I've read. Seems you made a good choice.

Re: Best Warm Weather Rain Gear

I have one of these jackets: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/cabelas-rainy-river-parka-with-gore-tex-paclite-for-men It is a little breathable and bone-dry, but like most jackets in hot weather you will sweat a lot. Wearing only a light sun-shirt/dry fit shirt under it helps. Also loose enough to we...

Re: Daiwa Sol

Not to derail the thread, but you mentioned the Viento. Did you happen to find a decent spool for it that drops in? The reel is really nice except for the 25g spool with fixed inductor.

Re: TD Z 7.1:1 RH gears

That would be awesome if you can make a quality set. I would also be interested in acquiring a set or helping with QC.

I just wish the OG Zillion 7.1:1 gears worked in the TDZ. That is maybe my favorite gear set of all time.

Re: New Tatula 100 spool size?

Hopefully that is the case. I might pick one up once the prices drop close to $100 and stick one of my DIY spools in it.

I really enjoy the format of MLF. I don't enjoy not being able to watch it on DirecTV.

I think they look great also. I'm hoping they make a new Zillion or Tatula Type R on the new frame with similar styling.

Re: Steez A Question

I feel like I need one of these Steez A's, though I would be equally happy with a Zillion version of the new Tatula that uses standard sized spools at some point in the near future. Is there anyone out there with a Steez A that prefers the OG Steez frame and would be interested in a swap? I like the...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

I thought the Regional Tatula CS on AliExpress was a pretty nice looking reel. https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1EPoaQVXXXXaZXVXXq6xXFXXXx/230146240/HTB1EPoaQVXXXXaZXVXXq6xXFXXXx.jpg https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2017-DAIWA-TATULA-CT-TYPE-R-CS-100H-100HL-100HS-100HSL-Baitcasting-Fishing-Reel-200g-7/3...
