Re: Is Daiwa still making new Pixies?
I'm hoping Daiwa comes out with a 6.3 gear ratio Pixy!

Re: Super Pixy vs. Steez 103
ChuckE, You make a lot of sense. I have to agree on rod choice for the light stuff. My go to combo is a Daiwa Custom on a Rogue MB663C. This is pretty close to the Steez and is probably a little more versatile than a modded Pixy. I've never used a Pixy, so I am relying on info from TT guys.

Alpha F or Pixy mod
Has anyone changed the gear ratio to 6.3. I'm looking for a lightweight finesse reel but I would like to see Daiwa offer these in faster retrieve.

Ultimate Tuner Reel
What reel responds best as far as doing all the mods and ending up with a great performing, lightweight, best bang for the buck reel??? Response could be broken down by manufacturer.

Re: Super Pixy vs. Steez 103
Thanks for the responses! I generally throw 3/16- 1/4 oz. baits. It almost seems like a toss up. What about relative quality Pixy vs. Steez?

Super Pixy vs. Steez 103
Any thoughts on which is better for casting 3/8 oz. or less??? Upgrading a Pixy is close to the cost of a new Steez.

Re: HLC Zillion Specs
Besides saltwater usage I wonder if it will exceed the Steez and how it will stack up to the metal Shimanos.

reel service
Do you guys notice much of a difference when you send your reels out for service as opposed to just routine spool bearing oiling that you do yourself?

Re: spinnerbait reel
Dragon, good observations. I never go much over 3/8 oz. on spinnerbaits. I like 1/4 most times and my Daiwa Custom does a good job on a Rogue mb663. The Steez offers a better drag than my Custom and is very high on my list. I'm leaning towards the Steez 100HL for the longer 90mm handle.
