Re: Looking for some feedback on these...

thanks a lot for the information, I have had half a dozens rods thus far and I only have 3 right now. I do however have a rod that I could use but im not huge on, which is my wild carrot stix micro guide. 7' ML/F which is rated for something along the lines of 3/16-1/2oz? I think. I just realized I ...

Re: Lew's Tournament Lite vs Tournament pro

probably not much help but my BB-1 casts longer than my tournament.. I know the tournament just has the external brakes where the BB-1 has centri brakes. I prefer my BB-1 its quick to adjust but I almost never adjust it now, same with my tournament, I found a sweet spot and I rarely need to change i...

Re: Looking for some feedback on these...

Which rods and reels are already in your arsenal? A couple rods strike me as questionable choices depending on what you mean when you say crankbaits, topwater, or jerkbaits. If you're talking about DT-10s and smaller then the rod you've chosen sounds reasonable, but I'd go with a faster retrieve ra...

Re: Looking for some feedback on these...

oh I don't go on assumptions that short rods are better for kayaking, I just prefer them, they also tend to have the shorter handles which I think is why I prefer the shorter overall rods. I have a rapala team issue walleye rod right now and its 6'2" but the handle length is almost perfect for the w...

Re: Looking for some feedback on these...

I fish a lot of kayak/ riverbanks so shorter rods help with storage and portability in my situation. I know that the "norm" is 7'6" for pretty well all of the techniques aside from as you said jerkbaits. but I tried to see what the norm was for rods and get the same or similar action seeing as not e...

Looking for some feedback on these...

I have been looking at some new gear, mainly rods and reels, and coming up with some cheaper combo options for 6 techniques I currently throw and or want to throw more of. anyways here are my cheaper options and I would like anyone to chime in on how they may perform for said technique. thanks in ad...

Re: Left Handed Concept Reels

I think growing up with spinning gear, I was so used to fishing lefty.. but it makes way more sense as stated above to have the rod in the dominant hand. better control greater accuracy and ease of use in my case. so im excited about these reels since I was looking at them for a while now, the trick...

Re: Lew's Reels

well I have the BB-1 and Tournament (non pro versions) in 5.1:1 and 6.4:1 respectively. I use the BB-1 for cranking, and (for now) the tournament is my topwater reel. they both cast like a dream and are both worth the money. I use braid on everything and to be honest, I started with an abu (mind you...

Re: Lots of new custom rods projects... excessively pic heav

the first 2 casting rods in that line up are by far my favourite, just personal taste there, however the attention to detail you put into those rods is simply beautiful.

great job

Re: I need a Kayak

I was looking at them all recently and my 3 are similar. predator XL (minn kota version) Jackson kayak- Coosa HD and also the big game II. depending on what you are looking for in a rig is where the answer lays. ill be honest and say im leaning heavily towards the Coosa HS solely based on the featur...

Re: Kayak Wraps

its like everything, if you want it done you spend the money. if you can live without it, you put that money towards something else. I mean $600 is a little steep however it also depends on the final product. if it looks perfect and is professionally done then $600 might not be that bad. I have a fe...

Re: Product Insight : Zillion TWS a.k.a. Tatula Z?

and yet I can bet there will still be people who will read this article and buy the zillion even though it was said that the casting distance wasn't easily discernible.... id save some money and buy the tatula myself. however im still a fan of Lew's reels.

Re: Kayak Wraps

I would hope that it can be wrapped... I mean cars get wrapped and boats get wrapped. I cant see why a kayak would be much different? I know around hatches it would be tricky to say the least and some spots just are not meant to be wrapped however, I would think a kayak can be wrapped. you may need ...
