Steez SV drag star looks old
Did anyone else's new Steez SV come with a drag star look old and faded? I think it's Zaion, but either way mine looks glazed/hazed over and really old. Do they all look this way?

Re: Revo MGX Spinning?
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/924/26fc2B.jpg Horrible quickie photo for now. I'll keep an eye out for how long it stays smooth. I'm not overly worried because it will be pitching 1/16 - 3/16 oz. jigs to smallies and walleyes. The other combo has a stiffer MXF rods and Stradic C...

LOL yeah I'm nervous. I don't mind losing jigs...I hate losing fish! If I'd had known how thin it was I would have gotten 18 or even 20

Re: What's a good price for an older style Metanium?
Does the met mg7 have aluminum gears? Yeah they both have duraluminum gearing. The only model that had the brass gears was the 100 MG7, which was a USDM flipping/pitching version of the reel. I put the brass in b/c I prefer brass on my Core 101, but just fished my Met as is, and I never noticed any...

Re: SS SV vs Steez SV
I understand the trepidation...ok no that was a lie  I'm a details nut, but y'all are taking this sh*t way too seriously lmao. I own the Steez Limited SV 105 (never had a SS SV) and it is a damn casting machine! I'm sure this new USDM SV is one hell of a caster! Worst case scenario you order it...

Re: Curado 70 owners--smoothness issues
Thanks! I use to do that to all my Shims, just never felt one this tight...but after reeling and playing with it for a while it's already getting looser. I will probably pop the bearings tonight and soak em. Think I still have acetone around somewhere.

Curado 70 owners--smoothness issues
Did your reel come packed with grease? I haven't disassembled yet...but it feels like there's resistance when reeling it, and the freespool time basically is awful :-k All my other reels if you wind them up and let go of the handle they spin for quite a while, this just basically stops almost immedi...

Revo STX spinning reel
I was at Cabela's yesterday and looked at a Revo STX spinning reel. It was surprisingly smooth, balanced, and exceptionally tight (no play). I was impressed. Now I'm always Shim when it comes to spinning reels. Every time I've tried someone else they are smooth at first, but quickly lose that feelin...

Sugoi Fluoro: advice needed
Just bought some of the clear Sugoi fluorocarbon in 16# from TW, listed as flipping line, but I suspect they're all the same lol. Anyways it came in and was much thinner than expected. It doesn't list line diameter, but I would put it around .31 by looking at it...my experience has been that line pr...

Re: What's a good price for an older style Metanium?
Hey guys, I'm wondering what a good price is for an older style metanium, the same frame as the chronarch D or core 100? I have a friend of a friend that is selling one in mint condtion in box and wanted to know some members take on it. Thanks! Christian Probably depends on how bad he needs to sell...

Re: daiwa sv103
One thing that's a little unclear, is the drag star Zaion or the cheaper plastic? In pictures on line it shows the Zaion star with ultimate tournament drag written on it. Mine doesn't say anything, but I can't tell if it's Zaion or not. Anybody know for sure? Is the non-handle side plate Zaion? I r...

Is that a J-Dream back there want it!!
Looks like you went with the 6.3:1...My 7.9:1 will arrive Saturday. I was torn on which one to get...kinda wish they still had a 7:1-that gear ratio works for every technique for me.

Re: Anybody tried the new Fenwick World Class rods?
I so wanted to try one but they never answered my question about weight that I asked them. The rods are made with the 3M nano resin that is supposed to make a rod stronger but also lighter since you don't need to use as much resin, but most of the rods are 1/2oz or more heavier than the Aetos model...

Anybody tried the new Fenwick World Class rods?
This is way out of my comfort zone...seeing as all my rods are NRX or custom. But, I was in Cabela's today and picked up a $100 Fenwick and it didn't feel too bad. The $300 price point seems a little steep given the bland cork and handle layout, and the Fuji alconite guides (or so I'm assuming as Fe...
