Re: What's next for Shimano???

Shimano needs a reel in the $130 - $150 price range.
Something between the SLX and curado.
A new citica would definitely fit the bill.

Re: Lews

I currently have six Lews reels in my lineup. For the money they are hard to beat.
Of course I have many shimanos and use to have Daiwa as well.
And about the knobs, shimano's septon knobs will turn to gummy like tree sap in no time at all too.
I prefer the daiwa I knobs. Mainly the cork versions

Re: Anyone tried the Aldebaran MGL?

When is comes to smoothness, the Conquest has always been in a league of its own. I have both the Conquest 100 and the Alde MGL. The Alde MGL fishes about the same as the regular model Alde. I think the casting maybe slightly easier due to the new spool. On the retrieve it fills the same as the regu...

Re: NRX??

I wouldn't mind a refresher. I have never cared for the light blue wraps.
I think a darker finish would look good.

NRX??

Does anyone know if a new model NRX is coming out anytime soon.
The current model has been on the market for awhile now.
New GLX, Conquest, maybe a new NRX???

Re: Baitcaster spinning backwards

Sounds like either its going bad or you got too much oil on it.
I have noticed cold weather can also cause the AR bearing to slip more.
Try cleaning it and if that doesn't work, it may need replacing.

Re: Shimano’s Budget offerings

I don't think shimano puts much effort into their low end reels.
I'm a shimano guy but I feel that their low end stuff is very lacking.
Lews and Daiwa have way better budget reels.

You mean get the actual scale weight?
I wish manufacturers would include rod weights like the do for reels.

Re: Older Daiwa Spinmatic 500T

I have several of the S and Z versions.
Great little reels. I have them on my crappie rods.
I also enjoy using the 500 size Shimano spinning reels.
