They are really good looking and well made.
But some of them looks better than they swims depending the model.

Re: Frog Rod ideas????
You don't need to spend a ton of money into a frog rod / a cranckbait rod / a jig rod/ a drop shot rod / .... - You don t need but you may want to if you are die hard in a particular technique. For froggin I have a steez xbd frog rod rod: http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60397&p=582...

Re: Bait casting rod guide size that enhances performance without disadvantages
On a casting rod, the rings diameter have no impact on casting distance because the line go straight in line with the rings out of the reel. I had several rods with micro guides (quantum smoke, dobyns savy) which I used with 50lbs braid line for froggin or 12 lbs mono for texas rigs, and my casting ...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty
It is not my impression but it is probably because I live in France where 95% of anglers use left hand reel baitcasters.
Maybe shimano don t release the left hand models in the Us because most of american anglers are supposed to prefer right hand retrieve.

In fact you have 4 models of lunkerhunt frogs which differ in sizes and actions but share the same "kicking legs" -Lunkerhunt froglet http://www.basspro.com/Lunkerhunt-Pocket-Frog/product/1308300611364/ -Lunkerhunt lunker frog http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lunkerhunt_Lunker_Frog/descpage-LHLKRFG.ht...

Re: Met MGL vs Curado 70 for my applications
I use my 71 xg for froggin on my steez frog rod. I love it, it cast my frog a mile, it is light, the drag is a beast, the ergonomic is perfect, fast retrieve. I just tune it with a 98mm metanium handle to add some crancking power. With a microclick system on the friction drag like the one on lews re...

You are right, always a bit tricky to buy a rod without holding it.

Re: Jackall poison Adrena 7'4 XH question
According the japanese Shimano fishing site, it is a dedicated swimbait rod with a regular taper able to throw 100 grs + baits, its full identification code is 174 XH-SB, SB is for s wim b aits. Throwing/walking frogs with a regular action swimbait rod.... not for me, I prefer by far a fast action r...

Re: How Much Braid?
+ 1 with njbassca
Always use a nylon or electric tape backing with braid. Even 2 or 3 meters of nylon is enough to avoid braid slipping on the reel spool.
A whole spool of braid spinning free on your reel when you need to put some pressure on a fish is really disturbing.

Re: Pink Braided Line
For ccass : It will be my pleasure, but the predators fishing season is now closed for 4 months in France. So no feedback before May. The only thing I can tell you about this Chinese braid is that the diameter is clearly bigger than the equivalent in resistance (65 lbs) from powerpro ou suffix. I ha...

Re: anyone breaking braid on hookset
Double palomar knot is much more safer to avoid the braid to slip, never had any problem with it even on full force hook ups while frog fishing. Concerning pickerels, we don t have this specie in France but we have a lot of pikes, which is a very similar specie but much more bigger. Pikes, especiall...
