Re: Need help ( Bottom contact rod)
This is my second season with my FMJ. I originally bought it thinking it would just do the 1/2oz+ jig duties but the thing does 3/8oz+trailer so well that it's my designated go-to jig rod for everything now and my other jig rod is collecting dust in my office. Just a fun rod to fish with all the pow...

Re: Can anyone compare 7MH. St.Croix LE and 7'2"MH Shimano Expride
The 7'2 MH Expride has less power than a 7' MH Croix.

Re: Deep Cranking Rod
Slinging deep cranks all day is going to get tiring no matter which rod you end up going with. I run an 805 CB RM in my rotation and it's a fine cranking rod for DD22's, 6XD's, and the like. A day of bomb casts, ripping through weeds, and setting hooks usually ends with sore hands, arms, and back.

Re: Do Expride rods have a high rate of breakage?
The 7'2 mh will be great for 3/8oz jigs and senkos. How does it compare in power compared to say Loomis MH ratings or St Croix to give me an idea? Especially tip? After all ratings are pretty much subjective. Thanks Lighter than a SC mh and slightly heavier than a Loomis mh. Pretty similar power to...

Re: Ramblings about rod power and preferences
My arsenal is cluttered with various MH and H power rods. Almost all of them are for bottom contact, slop, and deep cranks. All my mediums are for weightless plastics, smaller cranks, jerks, and topwater. And one ml for dropshot. The only reason I prefer a stiffer rod is for working jigs and plastic...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
I'm not planning on casting senkos with it. Was just wondering if it was capable to give me an idea of the tip action. I messed around with an 843 in the store and there is no way that thing would make for a designated 3/8oz jig rod, for me at least. Thanks for the replies. Anyone know how the Conq...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods
Anyone have any feedback on the 844C? Wanna use it as my primary 3/8oz jig rod and it will be replacing a Dobyns DX 705C(old model). It needs to excel in the 3/8oz+trailer range as I already have a designated 1/2oz. jig rod(FMJ). Will it cast down to as light as weightless 5" senkos? I currently use...

Re: Loomis Noob, looking for GLX help
Not sure if you already bought it but the 844 is going to be a lot closer in power to the SC 7'mh.

Re: St Croix LE for dropshot
The 6'10 ml/xf is the one I'd be looking at. It's got a beautiful taper and is much crisper and has a much better lightweight feel over even the LTB version of that taper. I haven't fished them but did the in store tests with all of them but with the new Legend X rod(same as LE).

Re: td luna 300 question
I own two older ones that were used heavily for Muskie fishing and they have been more reliable than my Calcutta TE 400. In addition, better to palm and the grips are some of the best in the business.

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's
I still have a gen 1 SX and a gen 2 SX. Those two reels are tanks, especially the gen 2. Bought them on their release years and still pluggin' along nicely. But yeah, somewhere along the way Abu lost me.

Re: Do Expride rods have a high rate of breakage?
I've got a first gen 7'2 MH and it's been a killer 1/4oz T-rig worm rod. No problems in 3 seasons.
