Re: Feelings About Senkos
I only wacky rig Senkos, that is where their "true action" and appeal lies. There are better profiles to T-rig. Having said that - I ONLY use circle hooks. After gut-hooking and killing a big bass 5 years ago - my friend yelled at me for not having any circle hooks. I have used one in particular to ...

Re: What is your biggest issue with lures on the market
COLORS. Companies all think fishermen are only fishing impoundments in the south. Look at the color choices... Flourescents and horrible unrealistic finishes. A TOUCH of chartreuse is awsome on a crank... 3/4 of the bait does NOT need to be flourescent. The clear natural lakes I fish do not need tha...

Re: Classification of a Weekend Warrior
I have read the previous post about weekend warrior lure choices with interest. It is quite obvious that very few on this site consider themselves a WW. The term is used with derision. A sort of inferior creature if you will. The question is what criteria must one satisfy to NOT be classed as...

Cast contols for finesse...
I hate spinning reels. I have ONE I use for shy creek smallies. I don't like anything about them. Which BAITCASTER CAST CONTROL SYSTEM gives the most distance? I AM NOT INTERESTED IN... 1. Reasons why the rod is just as important (let's assume all the reels are on the ideal rod) 2. Brand/model speci...

1. Abu Garcia developing ONE really good cast control system and sticking to it rather than randomly assigning 4 different systems all over their line-up with a disregard to application like they do right now. Don't try to cover for them. Talk to the hand. =; 2. Yum finally introducing some new colo...

Re: Offset Work Hooks With Longer Shanks ?
Try the 4" Dingers. Cast them ANYWHERE you think fish are holding. 8" of water to 8 ft. Let it sink down. When you know its on the bottom, lift it back up to near the surface and let it fall back down again. Repeat. You WILL outfish that Mepps 20 to 1.

Re: From OP For BladrunnerRe: Offset Work Hooks With Longer
Hi, Thanks for help; appreciate it. Am retired now, and enjoy fishing a lot, but frankly, still consider myself a novice at it. Anyway, live outside of Boston, and do most of my fishing in a nearby Pond. Have loads of Crappies in it, and some Smallmouth and Largemouth too. Have an UL spinning rig. ...

Re: Owner Twistlock hooks
I've been using the twistlock lights for 2 seasons now. I''ve caught 50+ bass on these now and NO problems. Twistlock Lights all-the way... Read what Yamamoto himself has to say about these hooks (spoiler - they don't bend on big fish) http://www.ownerhooks.com/images/products/hooks/basshooks/TwistL...

Re: Which line brands precision wind?
Spooled up with the Sufix. Love it so far. If it stays this nice and holds up to a few more big fish situations - then I have a new go-to line. I need to really abuse line before I commit. Pull free a couple snags. Use over-rated lure weigts etc.

Choose my next Senko rod poll...
Here is the application. This rod will have a wacky rigged Senko tied on 90% of the time. The other 10% will be Texas rigged Senko / Skinny Dipper on Twistlock Light 3/32oz. Occasional finesse jig. THAT'S IT. Long casts on gin-clear flats 2-3 feet of water. Sparse cover. Reel will be Daiwa Lexa 100....
Re: Spike-it
For those who have used Spike-it soft plastic dye, I was wondering how well it changes various colors to the dye which is applied. I.E., if I dip the claws from a green pumpkin trailer in the orange Spike-it, how close to orange are they? TIA, Eric. A few pics would be awesome! I haven't used the o...
Re: Spike-it
i too would like to know how well spike-it works on darker-colored plastics, especially the spike-it markers. i specifically want to use it on my missile baits D-bombs to replicate the color of delta crawdads which are black with red and orange tints like this: http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/35...

...you buy a usdm rod for $300 and fedex breaks it, so you order a $600 jdm rod to feel better, and already have a replacement usdm on order as well. I don't have those funds - BUT I TOTALLY RELATE. If my T.W. / B.P.S. / etc. order gets backordered. I take my frustration out by buying MORE. How doe...
