Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020
I can't decide if I want a new rod to go with it. I am in this perpetual search on the web from Covid boredom. What rod would you put it on that you have now? Daiwa Wisestream 62LB-3 or a Megabass Triza F0-63XTZ. I also have a Gloomis CR-842-2 but it already has a reel. I would be using this rod fo...

Re: BFS Travel Rods?
Well, I ordered/cancelled a few times, and ended up getting the MB Triza Aello. Based on 5 minutes in the backyard and 90 minutes at local small stream: It is a very nice rod IMO. It is pretty. Comes in a beautiful rod bag. Grey-ish blank with blue and turquoise wrappings, see pics. It is however r...

Re: BFS Travel Rods?
I ended cancelling my preorder for Megabass Triza for now - I ended up not really needing it. Many JDM trout/BFS rods come travel friendly as multipiece or telescopic rods. I enjoy my 3-piece trout rods: Daiwa Wise Stream 6’2” and Valley Hill 3’8”. I also have an ABU KRX salty stage 5-piece BFS tha...

Re: Megabass new 3 piece travel rods
I am thinking that the F0-63xtz Aero would have a bit more power than my Daiwa Wisestream 62LB-3. That rod is fun to fish but I hooked a big trout and it owned me. Now to figure out what reel to pair it with! I also ordered that rod from amazon jp a while ago - it will match my Monoblock Grigio Sto...

Re: Jerkbait Trout Rod
Fenwick KTF GWT-60CLJ fits the bill, Currently testing it but fells a little over powered for me 5.5-6g lure. Was wondering how the Daiwa Wise Stream feels. I really like it. SS Air is riding on it. I bought it for the bigger jerkbaits. I just don't like it for the size of jerkbaits that I bought i...

Jerkbait Trout Rod
I am looking for a casting rod that is short enough to efficiently cast and fish 1/4 oz jerkbaits while wading for trout. Does anyone have a good idea? I have a Daiwa Wisestream 62LB-3. Great for 1/8 oz jerkbaits but the bigger jerkbaits overpower the rod.

Re: Native trout style rod for small bass and panfish?
I would like to be able to cast like the gentleman from Enjoy Fishing Channel. I have a Conquest BFS, which I love. For very lightweight lures, a light aftermarket spool helps (I use the KTF). I also have a Wise Stream, the 62LB-3, which I am also very happy with. Still, maybe Enjoy Fishing Channel...

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?
Love
2.75 inch green pumpkin tube on a 3/32 mushroom head jig.
3 inch Yum Dinger weightless or with a BB slipshot.
2.5 inch Power minnow on a drop shot
Hate
Inline spinner and spinner bait.
Crankbaits
Spoon
Only hate these lures because they don't last.
Pike steal them.

Braided Line for winter Trout
Has anyone ever used braided lines in the winter? I am mainly fishing 1/16 oz hair jigs for the local trout. Temps vary from mid teens to upper twenties. Would an ice braid be better since they are so called hyrdophobic.
