Thanks JB! Are the 7:7.1 the only “brass” set for this platform? The set from the Curado 50e (6.4:1=26ipt) fits as well. Great cranking ratio, little slow for most other things. The new Rocket has some internal changes to the spool shaft and pinion gear. The spool shaft is now long extending all the way to the tension cap, similar to how the old Abu 6500C3 had them and the Shimano Calcuttas etc. Wonder why they would go to this design? Also now the pinion gear is much long...

I wonder if another company could buy the cast and dies for the OG TD Z gears? Seems that the stuff thats no longer available through HH Studio, is now being available out of China at Ali Express and DIY.
IMO the best of the Shimanos were the Ald/Core/Ch/CU 50s of the past. I have Aldebaran MG, and its just a blast to fish. The newer Shimanos just dont seem the same as they used to be. If you can find a Ald MG is really good condition, jump on it, you wont be disappointed.
