Re: Curado K gears

Best upgrade going for the 13 Met. Transformed mine to the point where its smoothness matches the Conquest 100HG. Why do reel companies persist with alloy gears? The weight saving is peanuts in my book. Because "they" think we know what we want better than "we" do. And als...

Oh man, Im soo anal about making sure that its perfectly centered. I know that a slight difference wont matter, but a good amount definitely will. Great post.

Re: Microcast spool vs real bfs reel

The shorter rods, for me anyways, are used for more of a "balance" thing, if any. 6'6 to 6'8 rods, as my light baits reels are fairly light (09Aldebaran, SV105, Curado50E, Scorpion XT1000). My casts are usually a "roll" type, no matter what type of fishing im doing (other than fl...

Re: Chronarch B

the B is a great platform with great ergonomics but the paint peeling was and is an issue. i have to say the cranking power and smoothness of operation is bar none I think that was more on the MG, no? It seems the magnesium reels tend to peel paint more so. I believe the B series Chronarch that he ...

If my memory serves me correctly, tequila sunrise is a color that is more of a black and purple. At least that is the color of my Charlies Worms anyways. This color looks more like a orange to me.

Re: Reel for Diablo Spec-R

What are the gear options for an sv103? I have a 7.9 that I would not mind slowing down, I think I fell too hard into "faster = better" and I don't want to replace reels. Any gear set that fits the TD Zillion will fit the SV103. Check out Tackle Trap as they have plenty of options for you.

Re: Swappin Lews Pro G gears with SD Gs. LFS Style

The downfall to some of the Lews reels is the Aluminum gears. Anybody tried swapping the aluminum gears with the brass gears from the Super Duty reels? If the LFS reels are the same in aspect, it should work. The Tournament Pro G is a killer reels, but for down here, I need the solidity of the bras...

Re: Soliciting advice on a BFS reel

09Aldebaran, and its what I use too. I have a PX68R, and while its a good reel, my Aldebaran with the Avail honeycomb spool is just plain sick! Another good option is the Yumeya spool, especially if you are gonna use braid. There are 2 or 3 Avail honeycomb spools, which one are you using? I use the...

How heavy is the lure gonna be? The 7.9 can be taxing on heavy baits.
