Re: Bantam MGL

I got the reel in the mail yesterday. I spooled it up with 20lb Stren magnathin, and did some pitching around the backyard with a 3/8oz weight and a brush hog. All brake tabs on, and dial on Max. Pitching is effortless and controlled. Even dragging the bait through the grass, the reel feels like it ...

Re: Abu with pinion support

If you look at the picture where it shows Duraclutch, Im gonna say no. But what you are looking at says yes. Maybe they used a different reel for the clutch picture? Look below dura clutch where is says pinion shaft support. The one after salt shield TM........ Yeah, I know. Thats why I said "what ...

Re: ICAST 2019

Just for that Shimano is going to change the name to Eshellaleks. That'll be the Shishamo version. Feast your eyes on the Cadence CB8. Please tell me thats not a Doyo made Shimano. We will never have an OEM build reels for us. We have two factories for reels and we like to utilize them given the si...

Re: Round Reel Question

I get what he is saying about defining a true "round". When you put all 3 there, it does show the funkyness of evolution. I personally still like the 200GTB the most.

Re: ICAST 2019

I know Daiwa has multiple new models to debut. I'm excited to see them and try them out. Yes indeed. I've fished quite a few of the new introductions, good stuff coming for sure from our Daiwa friends =D> Shouldn't we be seeing those Project Daiwa teaser videos by now? Or did they decide against th...

SLX DC. I am going to buy one just to encourage Shimano to produce reels with names I can pronounce. Just for that Shimano is going to change the name to Eshellaleks. That'll be the Shishamo version. Feast your eyes on the Cadence CB8. Please tell me thats not a Doyo made Shimano.

Re: TSI 321 on centrifugal brake drums?

My main concern is the "I" platform Shimanos. The first gen SVS Inf brakes will make horrendous noise if the pipe is dry. I use a thin oil now, and a very small amount. I was thinking if the TSI sticks better, it may last longer, and with a smaller amount? Definitely remember that issue popping up....

Re: TSI 321 on centrifugal brake drums?

Could you post a photo? I am curious to know what area(s) you are speaking of regarding oiling? I have a bunch of VBS reels and one Curado 50 is noisy on the cast If you take the palm plate off, you see the brass ring that the brake tabs will touch when they extend out? Thats what Im talking about....

Re: TSI 321 on centrifugal brake drums?

Works good, to good in some cases. VBS brake ring, no issues at all. Very slick and makes the spool faster, but those brakes were so controlled it worked out fine to gain some distance. SVS brake pipe, I usually just keep clean and dry. Used TSI on one and the reel was uncontrollable. Had to turn b...

I would keep the drums clean and dry. wouldnt want dirt to get stuck on the tsi and potentially gum up the brakes.
I've always kept a swipe of oil on them, and swipe clean before adding oil. The tabs and shafts on the spool get cleaned as well, annually.
