Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

A liberty blank huh? Cool. That one is made by a friend of mine at GBO... someone I have known for many years and buy from myself, but I have yet to use his liberty blanks. He knows I am a Loomis fan and when I go into his shop I am there for North Fork only. The Liberty blanks are made in USA, but...

Re: New reel dilemma

Sounds like a good idea to me too. Try it. Worst case the gears are being replaced anyways. Best case, you now have a backup set for when your gears start to "buzz".

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

No Loomis or Kistler. And I have no idea who the other guy is. I was offered a new Kistler that was a $250 rod for $130, which for $130 to me would be worth it. I had a Ex6 Loomis, but for the money, I hated the rod. Just felt crummy to me. Honestly, what isnt over priced now a days. The cost...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Tell me about it. Too much emphasis on names, origin of build, etc. Every company will outsource, and that goes for damn near everything out there in the world. I bet there are many countries out there that go "such and such was made in the USA, what a piece of chit!". Its a safe bet that rods...

I'm a fan of this reel series. You may like it
I'm excited to get my hands on it, I hope it can take the place of my Type R Tatula but we shall see.
Totally different ball game. Tatula Type R isnt even close.

Re: JDM Zillion TW 1516 question

I'm pretty sure on the crankplate its Zion. Damn reel is amazing though. Levelwind has one bearing on it. Haven't opened it up yet. It's super smooth, smoother than any Daiwa I have ever owned. Love that reel. The spool is just insane for casting.

Wrap mine around needle nose pliers and pull. Never any body parts, gloved or not. Thats quite a risk.

Re: Star drag and handle options, Scorpion XT?

Very hard to find star drags for them reels now. Try and email HawgTech, as I think Mike has a bunch of CU200E drag stars that are anodized. They also sell nice carbon fiber handles. Email is support@hawgtech.com

There is a running change to the part and the new number is BNT5310. Sometimes our bright ideas are for a reason. And there are times when we improve the bright idea and make it better and brighter. We even change the part numbers for time to time so you can continue to complain about the brillianc...

Use the HH tool. Best spool pin too out there. Push on the narrow part of the pin to remove.
