Re: Can i upgrad BC to throw lighter weights ??.

I didn't purchase the wrong brand at all, I wanted this particular reel for throwing 1/8, 1/6oz jigs, I was only wondering if it was possible, its no big deal I will just go out and but a new setup for light stuff, I guess its easier then changing the spool all the time anyway., BTW I am using a 2-4...

Re: Can i upgrad BC to throw lighter weights ??.

Okay so it has all to do with the spool, I have upgraded to OC's and use a pretty good rod already.

Can i upgrad BC to throw lighter weights ??.

What do I need to upgrade on my reel to make it throw lighter weights, I have a Lews BC and it throws 1/6oz 1/8oz Curltails and paddletailz fine but throwing lighter weights is a huge problem, what part of the baitcaster do I need to upgrade to make it throw lighter weights, ie the spool, the bearin...

Re: Lew's Customer Service

Agreed even though lews don't sell in my country (Australia), I emailed Rick about some replacement spool/tension bearings (sizes) he sent me an email right back and a week later I received 3 new bearings free of charge (I didn't even ask), for them to send to Australia for free is awesome, since th...

Re: How to measure bearing sizes without calipers ??

Thankyou that does help, there is no way I would of payed retail to replace the inner real bearings if I wasn't getting such a good deal, I really am interested in the bearings inside the pipe (The thing that the wormshaft fits into), there are 2 of these one either side and also the handle bearings...

Re: How to measure bearing sizes without calipers ??

Not really, I can get 11 ABEC 7's wholesale delivered under $40, I just need the sizes, I will just buy some calipers, I am swapping them all because my handle bearings are rusted ( I already did the spool, tension and side plate), and $40 isn't a lot to spend for piece of mind, I am doing a drag up...

How to measure bearing sizes without calipers ??

So I want to fully load up my Lews with 11 Abec 7 but am unsure of the sizes, can you just measure them with a tape, ie would just trace around them with a pen then measure the distance (width) or will that not work.

Re: Baitcaster set up confusion

The Sniper FC I feel is very unforgiving I use to use it regularly (because everyone told me it was the best) but since then I have changed, the FC is good on slack bites but since I fish flathead I don't really need it anymore, line conditioner will help especially over time but I steer clear of th...

Re: Lews TP question

It makes a whole bunch of difference on free spool and I guess it makes more of a difference if your bearings on your TP are old/ gummed up, I replaced mine within 4 weeks and it made pretty much no difference, only difference it made was casting super light and even then it was negligible, but cast...

Re: Can some bass evolve to being completely uncatchable?

I had this exact problem, when I would see the bass follow the bait I would subconsciously slow down the retrieve rate on anticipation of the strike, they would see the bait and piss off, sometimes I wait till I see the fish follow then I speed up the retrieve a little bit, they seem to want to chas...

Re: Berkley 100% Flourocarbon XL

FINALLY, I got to the lake and fished with the NEW Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Pro. :D It's a great line! I used it in 8LB (0.10 diameter) test line on both my Stradic 3000 FJ and Chronarch 200E7. Compared to Trilene Monofilament XL, regular Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon Pro, and Sunline "Super Natura...
