Favorite DC reel for skipping

Just looking for some input on preferred DC reels for the purpose of skipping. I have several SV flavored reels and most all of them are terrific for this purpose, Im just in the mood to try something different. The last DC reels I have owned were the original Calais DC and original Exsence DC. I am...

Re: Ned Rig on Casting Gear

What size NED you throwing? I throw the 1/5 and 1/6 Nedzillas so most light spool casting reels can handle them okay...[/quote]

I actually throw the standard 2-3/4" TRD on the zman 1/8 oz skirted micro finesse jig. I have had great luck with this combo.

Re: Ned Rig on Casting Gear

I throw the Ned on the Aldebaran BFS XG and the Megabass F3-610 Hein. This combo is absolutely off the charts. Hands down the most comfortable, enjoyable setup I own. I would say a match made in heaven. Just dissapears in hand, super sensitive and both rod and reel are perfectly suited for the weigh...

Re: Furthest Casting LP baitcaster?

Just to throw my two cents in here, I own a lot of what are considered to be the longest distance LP baitcasters. I do most of my casting within the weight range you mentioned. For me the clear winners in sheer distance are my T3 SV and FX68 Viola with the purple SLP SV Spool installed, and followin...

Best Palming Reel?

I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but I am curious to hear all your opinions. What would you consider the best palming reel on the market? I would have to say the most (palmable?) reel I have had the chance to fish with is the 15 Aldebaran 50 HG. Coming in a close second would be my steez...

Re: 2015 Abu Revo Elite Aurora 64 Limited

I would love to hear some feedback on this reel from any of you who've had the chance to use it out on the water . I'm in between purchasing either the aurora 64 limited or the JDM Revo elite ib Rocket 9. I am specifically going to be using this reel for flipping Jigs.. The gear ratio on the rocket ...

Re: Which finesse spool for td ito ?

I have all three spools mentioned. In my opinion while the others are incredible spools the Megabass Honeycomb is my favorite among the three for your intended purpose. I feel like it throws super light rigs equally as well as the MB IS and has the added benefit of more line capacity and the added a...

Re: SV Spool Inductor

Ok, as the original poster of this topic I will tell you my experience and eventual resolution of the problem. After trying several different methods to remedy the problem on my own I finally contacted Jun from Japan tackle to see if there was any way in which he could aid me in finding a solution. ...

Antares HG vs Calais DC

In terms of castability, how would you say these two reels compare? Curious to see what everyones' opinions are as to whether they believe if the SVS infinity system coupled with the G free III spool is an improvement or downgrade to the 4x8 DC system found in the Calais.

Simple Question

Hello all, Very simply, I am interested in shaving some weight from some already very lightweight reels. Namely a few varaints of the Steez and a metanium xg. What have you guys found to be the most effective way to drop a few grams? From my own poking around I have concluded some aluminum zpi knobs...

Re: T3 SV

Hey Buddy, Also from Jersey and have used my T3 SV to cast and pitch senkos for quite a while now. However I am usually using the 5" size. This reel, when working properly absolutely launches senkos a mile and pitches them with incredible ease and control. In fact, It was up until recently my favori...

Finding Inductor Springs

Simple question, Does anyone know where I can purchase the springs used in the Daiwa spool inductors? I have been attempting to remedy the sticking SV inductor issue by using a slightly higher tensioned spring, However I am not sure where to source these types of small springs. I have tried the stan...

Re: SV Spool Inductor

I have the sv105 orange spool and the black/gunmetal ss sv 103 spool and both of them have stuck in the full out position but haven't really noticed a difference in performance when it happens as I haven't realized until taking the sideplate off to relube bearings between trips. I have put a strong...
