I can't comment on the X7 but to answer your question regarding are you going to be blown away when comparing the 893 to the DX all I can say is that I most certainly was. It's one of those rods I wish I had more than 1 of.

I used to have a DX743 but replaced it with an 893NRX. Powers are similar but I don't throw anything less than a 5" senko on it, as was the case with the DX. As njbasscat said, I also use an 852 for 4" worms.

You'll love the 7' 1" MH for that weight of jigs. I've never fished an Envy to compare sensitivity but I'm very impressed withe the sensitivity of the Helium 3's
