Re: Reel knobs and dry hands
Whenever I put in a couple of days back to back, the fingers on my reel cranking hand peel like CRAZY. I only have Septon grips, so I have no idea if it is specific to that or not. Anyone else experience the same things? Between that, bass thumb, pokes from hooks and fin rays, my hands actually swe...

Re: dobyns 3 power vs loomis 3 power
I can't comment on the X7 but to answer your question regarding are you going to be blown away when comparing the 893 to the DX all I can say is that I most certainly was. It's one of those rods I wish I had more than 1 of.

Re: dobyns 3 power vs loomis 3 power
I used to have a DX743 but replaced it with an 893NRX. Powers are similar but I don't throw anything less than a 5" senko on it, as was the case with the DX. As njbasscat said, I also use an 852 for 4" worms.

Re: KLX and Helium 3?
For me it was a very noticeable difference (upgrade). I was not impressed by the DX I had whatsoever.TackleJ wrote:How is the sensitivity on the helium 3 vs the dobyns champion/champion extreme?

Re: Fish both left and right handed baitcasters?
Moving baits I reel right handed after I cast right handed. Just more natural this way and don't find I need the rod control for moving baits as much. For feel techniques or flipping and pitching I reel lefty because I have more casting control and feel with my right hand/arm plus I have more hook s...

I just got mine and man is this rod immaculate! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the grip but I love it. Definitely wishing I had ponied up at least $500 to get 4 now...

You'll love the 7' 1" MH for that weight of jigs. I've never fished an Envy to compare sensitivity but I'm very impressed withe the sensitivity of the Helium 3'smprestonSEK wrote:I'm leaning more towards the MH since 3/8 and 1/2 oz. are what I primarily throw.

I have neither received my rod nor received any notice of shipment. I have received some of the generic emails stating they are working to ship all rods out in the near future.[/quote]

Re: dobyns champion extreme 743 or 744
I had a 743 used for the same technique you described. I saw your post on this in the general forum and you mentioned you were looking for a bottom contact rod for dragging with great sensitivity. Personally I found the DX line lacking in sensitivity for this and changed to a Helium 3 and couldn't b...
