Re: Best Jig Rod for $200

Welcome =D> Check with the Tackle Trap, they may have a MB XX rod available. They were on sale. The best jig rod is the one you feel comfy with.

They are pretty fast. EMS is usually 3 days to customs. Once it get to customs keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?

I have 2, they fish just fine. With the advancements in plastic, polymer, carbon fiber, etc. I'm not concerned about a plastic pawl. If it breaks "I got a guy" ;)

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?

Been using 1 brake block on, 3 on the dial, cc just a tad to the tight side, 10in power worm 3/8 wt, CNQ904c.
Smooth casting, good distance, and a very solid feel with a fish on. :big grin:

Re: Alphas R Question

I'm assuming you are talking about the knot where the line is tied onto the spool? I can try it but I m not so sure that would solve the problem. The last line I spooled on a made sure the knot was cinched tight. Then when I spooled it made sure there was a lot of tension on the line when spooling....

Re: Alphas R Question

A small piece of tape on the knot may help.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I have a Bantam Mgl on my CNQ 904c and it's a great combo. Sorry, I don't have a concept c to compare. The Bantam is a very solid reel.

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?

The more I use it, the more I like it!! 151HG with 50 lb braid, throwing 10in power worms mostly. Very solid feeling reel, feels good in hand.Casting distance is just fine. Caught some 4-5 lbrs and they were no match, can handle much bigger fish, no problem. Got the 151XG ordered for flipping.

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

Long story short, found 2 loose screws in the handle side plate. Spool tension is back to normal. Needless to say Mr. Screwdriver and I went on the hunt, found 2 more reels with screws that needed a touch up.

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

Are there spacers under the bearing in the non handle side plate that are becoming dimpled and causing spool tension to be lost? As far as I could tell there was no dimpling or any signs of unusual wear. I have been using this reel for quite some time without a problem. The pinion shaft was fine, n...

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

had the same problem with my Zil Hlc Tw this morning, stated getting over runs and when I tried to put some spool tension on, there was none to be found! Got it home, did some checking, every thing seemed normal. I took the side plate bearing out, took the fiber washer out, as well as the copper spa...
