Re: Conquest vs NRX

I have the CNQ904 and the NRX894, for bottom contact the NRX is a little more sensitive, but the CNQ is way more versatile. If you want to take off that jig or worm and tie on a chatterbait, skinny dipper etc. no problem with the CNQ.

Re: Rod balance Loomis / St Croix

You don't have to use all the lead!! But, for an 894/895, yes, all the lead.

Re: Zillion TWS feedback from owners?

The Zillion TWS have been solid performers, take them to Mexico and work them hard, have not had a problem.

Re: Reel Selection

Got tired of "shelf queens" really nice reels that were to purty to fish. Only kept one, the IP68L Dragon. Used the money to fund newer reels that I would actually use and not worry about a scratch. 2 Bantam Mgl, a Zillion HLC and a couple Tatula CT Type-R. Actually don't miss them, maybe the IS63 R...

2019 Z-Bone 5H 7-6. 1oz-1.5oz in the "sweet spot" The XBD Frog rod is a good choice, but the Z-Bone is more sensative.

Re: Rod for Zonda

I could make the colors match and get a M or MH Super Trickster and even get some Shooter BMS, make the brands match and get my first Megabass, or say to hell with matching it and go with another MS-X (probably the 69M/BF), a rod I know I'd like. Hmmm..... As far as the Hein goes, no reason not to ...

Mine rattles when retrieving a trap or chatterbait. Sounds like the inductor, but can't confirm.

Yup, 894C, used the balancer from Mud Hole, as much as I hate adding weight to a rod, the 894 feels much better.

Re: Daiwa Zillion TW HD 2018

The stock Zilion TW spools should work in the HD. They are 1516 so not quite the capacity of the 1520. Indeed the new Zillion HLC is very nice reel.

Re: Bantam MGL Upgrades

Sent both to Ian, he hooked me up with 100mm handles, polished tuned, YT Fusion brgs. Let my buddy use the 8 gear mounted on a NRX 894, he flips a lot, said it was by far the best flipping reel he has used, he is going to get one or two. Really happy with them, mostly a Daiwa guy but the Bantams are...
