Re: Trip to Japan

Its been a while since i had the opportunity to visit Japan. Its an unbelievable place to shop for tackle. Tokyo was our destination and i did visit Mount Fuji. I didn't get to fish however there were tackle shops on every corner. Learn to use the transit system and be careful.

Re: Cranking Reel

Abu Revo3 SX-L(IVCB 4 conversion, with 4.6:1 Toro Winch gears) for medium. And Lews BB2 lefty with BPS Pro qualifier 4.7:1 gears for deep. OG ZLN CC as a back up with HLC spool. Picked up a TDZ100ML and could use the Zillion HLC spool. Stuffed in CVZ203L 5.1:1 gearing, Hopefully trying this weekend...

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits

It depends on the cover. Heavy wood cover i would use fluorocarbon or heavy mono. Fishing deep water cover i would use a combination of braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Using braid only is an easy way to lose expensive baits when fishing heavy wood cover.

Reels, not so.

Which means prices should continue dropping.....IMO!

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

This spool structure has fewer parts and handles heavy loads when cranking. Its supported by three bearings. Right?

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?

Yeh Cal just messaged me deleted it and said its 'self promotion' - I've replied to him about that. Oh hey TT liked the images too :-k Anyhow anyone wants pics - on my Insta search via my name - its a "not for profit page". My thoughts... Nice frame and associated parts, the idler gear fo...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Well I guess the reaming is almost over.................I might have to buy a MGXtreme 2 on eBay. Get a JDM LV7. Smaller reel, and better overall for light baits. What about the new Daiwa-Bait-Reel-Black-Bath-Steeves-SV-TW-1012SV-XH Would this one work well in Russia or China? https://www.ebay.com/...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Also, their chrome parts, such as the clutch, losing its chrome after a season or less is just :laugh1: That's what i get on reels from aliexpress sold for $25. Too hard for abu to do proper chrome pieces? Never have i ever seen a Daiwa reel with erased/chipped chrome on the clutch, but on abu, its...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Here we go again............."They don't even use any tech, its just linear magnets in most reels, and they're made in Korea."
You must be talking about Daiwa or Shimano. Its just more fake news.........from the left.

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Hmm......What a powerful life lesson when comparing Abu Garcia with other reels. "The MGXTREME2 for a good price would be fun, but stock versus stock price the Steez hands down wins. Think a copycat site youtube test had the MGXTREME2 out casting the Steez and a high end Shimano though.....&quo...
