Re: What is the smoothest stock Daiwa reel you've ever used?

PT33 3:8:1 gearing when using a heavy resistant crankbait. Also the newer Ryoga! Haven't seen that mentioned in a long time. Way back in 1988 I snagged the PT33P and that thing was killer at that time. This conversation/article doesn't mention anything about cranking, power or torque. Its all about...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

You didn't use braided for baitcasters? But you use braided for spinning? Are you all baitcasters OG Zillions with that slow level wind that braided did not work well? I still have a arsenal of bait-casters readily available with braid. (conquests and tdz) However, I find it to be easier to land an...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

I've made the switch from bait casting to spinning reels. I rather land a big fish on spinning tackle. Braised lines have the difference

Re: Braid causing gear wear?

This is interesting! Being a Salmon fishing guy none of my Micro Module gears have held up well... I use light line as well nothing over 10lb test and I notice after sticking a hot fish that makes several hard runs or several in a row that smooth reel I started with has left the building... I have ...

Re: Millionaire '19 CT SV 70

The reel is expensive. But the video explains and does give you an good reason for buying round reels. More torque and longevity....IMO

Which is why i continue to buy round reels.....s

Re: Recommend me a spinning reel

I've used a Fuego 3000 for years. I would buy a 300 dollar rod instead of a better reel.

Re: Forgive me daiwa

Hi there, I used both Daiwa and Shimano top of their products, I switched definitively to Shimano after I got busted in 3 consecutive trips to Brazil for peacock bass and 1 trip to Mexico for largemouth. I had to send back to Japan 2 different Daiwa Z2020 H and SH for repair as the spool release th...

Re: Trip to Japan

Its been a while since i had the opportunity to visit Japan. Its an unbelievable place to shop for tackle. Tokyo was our destination and i did visit Mount Fuji. I didn't get to fish however there were tackle shops on every corner. Learn to use the transit system and be careful.

Abu Revo3 SX-L(IVCB 4 conversion, with 4.6:1 Toro Winch gears) for medium. And Lews BB2 lefty with BPS Pro qualifier 4.7:1 gears for deep. OG ZLN CC as a back up with HLC spool. Picked up a TDZ100ML and could use the Zillion HLC spool. Stuffed in CVZ203L 5.1:1 gearing, Hopefully trying this weekend...

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits

It depends on the cover. Heavy wood cover i would use fluorocarbon or heavy mono. Fishing deep water cover i would use a combination of braid with a fluorocarbon leader. Using braid only is an easy way to lose expensive baits when fishing heavy wood cover.
