Re: What would a J Dream in
$250 should do the trick. Worth it in my opinion

Re: J-Dream spool replacement
Japan Tackle shop has a good selection that will fit. The 100 Z spoil is impossible to find but the best option. HLC is a good spool but not very versatile.

Re: SV spool under performing
Ive had issues with both the SV105 and the SS SV spools being way over tamed. Put a RCS 1000 in the SS SV and sold the SV 105. I kinda think the earlier SV spools were a work in progress and some had to much brake. Newer SV spools are much more refined.

Re: TDZ 103ML Swept handle upgrade ?
You will need a swept drag star also. The Tatula or Zillion drag stars work fine

Re: Daiwa TD-x 103PiA
zillion drag star will work as well as the tatula drag star. tatula swept handle also fits. not sure about the spool. I think your model has the older magforce and not magforceV. that will limit your spool selection I believe. I tried changing spools in an older X that just had magforce and ended up...

SV spool bearings
I'm about to grab an Alphas SV and perhaps an SS SV and I upgrade all my reels with Bocas or HH studio bearings. I caught a thread giving a rough translation on Daiwas instructions for setting breaks on the SV spool. What I got out of it is, the SV spool is designed to have a little more spool tensi...

Re: Need Help Removing Paint from TDZ 103ML
Dremel makes a bunch of different wire brushes including a brass one that I bet would work without scratching the metal. I'm gonna give it a try. the plastic side plate makes life difficult though.

Stripping and polishing an old air metel Daiwa
I came into an old JDM TD-X air metel reel that is perfect mechanically but the paint is awful. I was thinking about stripping the paint then polishing and buffing the bare metal and putting a clear coat on it. Anyone tried this? And any thoughts would be helpful.

Re: Daiwa Black Widow 2 upgrades?
the Black widow 2 is basically a TD-Advantage but I'm not sure if it's a 153 size. most any Daiwa handle will fit. Tackle trap has the Tatula handles for under $20 and they are black. Zillion or steez or Tatula drag stars should all fit. Again Tackle trap has the Tatula stars. Either the 100 0r 103 ...

Re: TD-X handle knob bearing replacement
They are indeed a riveted handle. I have tuned up several, nice reel you can pick up cheap. I love swept handles but in my opinion this is one reel that they don't really work on. The balance gets a little wacky with a swept handle and seeing as this is a flipping and pitching reel, a nice 100mm str...

JDM team Daiwa X 103 h air metal bearings
Anyone know bearing sizes for the JDM Td-X 103h
Air metal. I'm assuming same as a Z but not sure. Also, do you think the X- air metal is basically the same reel as a Fuego with a different spool??

ZPI inertia handle
I bought a like new ZPI inertia handle on the bay a month ago and put it on a tuned up Luna to use as my big swimbait reel. Looked and felt great and I only paid $65 so I was pretty happy. Got home from work today and saw chunks of foam rubber on the floor and our 1 year old Lab slinking around like...

It did take almost 4 weeks to get the handle and my last order was that long also. I use tackle trAp for almost everything I just couldn't pass on the price
