What I use and what I have sitting is whole different story. I currently only use 5-6 rods and 5-6 reels now days.

Barramaniac is correct. The maintenance ports on Shimano Spinners, should only be used for grease, specifically spray grease.

The Symetre 500 FL does NOT have X-ship. I have the box and papers, unfortunately it won’t allow me to post the dang schematics and feature list (file too big) but it says X-SHIP and Varispeed II Oscillating System (except #500) but it does list Maintenance Port and Varispeed (#500 only) .
