Re: G loomis NRX+ 844C MBR vs NRX+ 873C CRR
I think yes the 844 has more versatility, I don’t know of anything I couldn’t use it for with at least to a degree of success. My number one favorite technique for the 844 is swim jig. Love it. The 873 is an amazing rod. Shines of course for a Carolina rig with like a 1/2 oz weight. I don’t care for...

Re: NRX+ vs Conquest 843 MBR
Not that it’s a super big concern, but also the expediator replacement cost for conquest is $175, vs $125 on a NRX +. If something was ever to happen to it. Just something to factor into the future cost of ownership

Re: Shimano reel speeds and techniques.
I stick to 7.1 or 7.4 for 90% of my applications. I only use 6.2 for cranking these days. I use the 8.1+ for jigs/flipping.

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?
I use the 844 a lot for swim Jigs. But it’s a fantastic Texas rig rod or light jig. Also have used for chatterbait and big spinnerbaits. The 853 I use primarily for wacky rig. But it’s also a great shakey head rod here in Texas. I consider both of these rods to be very versatile models. They could b...

Re: It's time for a 5" fluke rod (casting rod)
My go to favorite rod for flukes is a conquest 843. It is absolutely perfect for this task. Plus when not using it for flukes that rod can perform so many other techniques.

I still use a G.Loomis premier 5’6” medium pistol grip. It’s from
Around 1993. I use it for square bills in tight cover, or pitching under docks. I enjoy it. Also have a old Shimano jimmy Houston signature 6’ medium I use from time to time.

Re: NRX users…what’s your top three (or four) rods in the lineup?
I have just about every model of NRX. The ones I could never part with are the 844, 853, and 804. I use each every trip out. But I must give honorable mention to 854, 894, 904. If you are seeing a theme I like heavy power rods because I fish heavy grass lakes.

Re: Your Confidence Lure
This picture shows how good the finish on the Giant Dog X is (the 3rd one from the top). It's 25 years old. The Zara Spook (the top) and the Duo Realis (the 2nd one from the top) were used only for a few years. The Rio Rico (the bottom) is definitely a hall of famer for me. This particular one caug...

Re: Ichikawa - Plastic or Wood?
Man I LOVE these baits. I cannot get enough of them. I have slayed the fish on multiple trips on the smaller and midsize Ichikawas. Even when my partner couldn’t by a bite.

Re: What's Your Old Lure that Still Catches Bass?
I have some older spinnerbaits with hammered silver Colorado blades. Not even sure of the maker(not that it matters since so similar). However I can fish right behind someone with these older spinnerbaits and get bit. No one is using that style anymore. Oh and white is the go to skirt color.

Re: 852S NRX vs NRX+
Following.
I don’t have this specific model. But I can say from the new NRX + I have gotten vs the old ones, they are really super close. And the plus has enough improvements I am pleased. Can’t say Iam gonna replace all of them , but if I have too I won’t mind it.
