I have the Conquest 100HG, Luna 103, TD-X, CVZ, and Abu (1600 Morrum)
They are ALL surpassed by my 2 RYOGA 1016's! One has a 1012 Spool and the other stock.
They are smoother and handle better. I have to admit I was surprised!!
The Morrum actually comes in second. Another surprise!

For me, the old ones do much better. May be a confidence thing.

Not enough clear water where I fish. Total waste of time.

Dang it! You've exposed one of my secret baits: a black Crazy Crawler!!
Trick is NOT to work it like a Jitterbug, but a splash splash and stop. Old timers trick.

I have tried the Aldebaran on both the Kistler and DX702C.
I MUCH prefer the 702C for those applications. ( of course, the PERFECT reel for the 702 is the little green Curado 50E)

Re: Jackson rods JPY ?
I bought a 6'4" Super Trickster from Tackle Trap a couple years ago. Presently I have a Zonda10 on it. The Bastard series is the one below it and about $150. The Super Trickster is over $200. Very pleased with the Super Trickster. I believe it to be the "Sleeper" of JDM rods. Very sensitive. Have ha...

I had the 1016, and like you, was not impressed.
Then I bought the red FX73SV and was REALLY impressed. A jewel of a reel and an effortless caster.

Re: Floating soft bait for Carolina Rig?
Damiki Air Craw Great bait on a Kriet Squirrel shaky head and and also a MOJO rig. The bottom is muck here and this will definitely float HIGH above the bottom. ( light wire hooks work best) I might be the only person down in the Swamps that uses them. Tornado HAG , a ringed worm, will also float s...

Re: Ned Rig
I have used the HAG'S TORNADO in 4" size. I cut some off on tail side and glue on.
The Tornado is ringed and floats up. Straight up!
No need to try anything else.
I want to get some Gopher jigs and try them too. Where are y'all buying them?

Re: New GLX 782C MBR
I just checked the website and it's no longer listed on sale. A few days ago it was the ONLY GLX on sale which I thought odd.
Several other brands also had one or 2 models on sale.
I wasn't planning to buy one but couldn't pass ANY GLX up at $199!
Sorry guys. I should have post it sooner.
