Re: Educate Me on TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition

I only wish there was an option to get faster gears than the 6.3:1. Hey... at the time that platform was originally made, 6.3:1 was super high speed!    Luckily the torque of the 6.3:1 set makes it perfect for winching fish from heavy cover! Maybe they were just ahead of their ...

Re: Round Reel Question

To me a round reel should be round all the way around. When you incorporate a big, clunky, square gearbox on the side it ceases to become a round reel and starts becoming something different. We'll just have to agree to disagree then my friend. To me, a reel's profile is defined by the shape of its...

Re: Round Reel Question

I don't know if I consider the Ryoga to be a truly round reel since it has that big gearbox hanging off the side to accommodate the larger gear set, but that's just me. It's more of a round/LP hybrid. The Ryoga and Monoblock certainly are round reels. The size of the gearbox does not define the ree...

Re: questions from a newbie

Are there any tackle shops near you other than the big chain stores? If so, that's the best place to get information on the how, what, why, and where near you.

Re: Forum Restrictions

The size limit is 400tall by 600wide @ 72dpi... you can't expect us to host photos of unlimited size if membership and access to the forum is free.

That being said, I just tried to upload a screen shot and it didn't work, so I pinged JIP to make sure something didn't change.

Here's a small one caught by Shin Fukae on a new bait he was demonstrating for me last fall - the Spro Wameku 70 (ignore the file name)

Older Daiwas, even the TDZ's, were guilty of a shuddering, stuttering drag at high pressure, as well.
Those original TDZs had terrible drag washers... any bit of oil in there and the drag was useless.
