St Croix Avid X
I have been looking into getting a new jerkbait/topwater rod. The Avid X is what I am thinking right now but I'm up for suggestions as well. Is the 6'8 MHF going to have too much backbone? Would I be better off with the 6'8 MXF?

Re: Daiwa SV103 Ratio
The 7:9 is a good all around ratio in my experience. I have used mine for bottom contact and moving baits.

The Alphas SV 105 is the reel you would want for lighter presentations.Gorris317 wrote:So basically any of the Daiwa reels that has SV? SV105 is the reel I would want for non-finesse baits correct?

Re: War Eagle Double Willow vs Screamin Eagle
The Lucky Craft Skt spinnerbait is on my list to try out. My top recommendation would be the Revenge Deep Runner. On many occasions it has out fished other spinnerbaits by a wide margin for me. They are a little more pricey than War Eagles, but they have very good durability and slightly better comp...

Re: War Eagle Double Willow vs Screamin Eagle
You're right on track. The Screamin Eagle is great for burning and running a little deeper due to less resistance from the smaller blades. The double willow version will have more resistance and be able to be slow rolled. Also, if you want some recommendations on other good spinnerbaits, I'd be happ...

Re: Zoom Magnum Finesse
Last summer they were my go to bait for fishing deep grass and points. I caught several 5-7 lb bass and every size in between. I fished mine on a trig with a 1/4 oz tungsten pegged with a 3/0 Gammy Superline hook. Make sure to try out the Houdini color. As far as hooks go, take your pick. I have bee...

Re: Prescription Sunglasses
I ended up getting a really good deal on my prescription sunglasses today. Framesdirect.com is running a promo where you can get 50% off certain brands. I got some Wiley X P17s with Emerald green lenses that have ar, anti glare, anti scratch and anti fog. Ended up being a little over $200. Can't bea...

I fish 18lb Sniper on my 13 Metanium and it holds more than enough and that's with backing.
