Re: Small paddle tail rod… 76 preferred
The Expride is a good choice but if your budget is a bit more limited you could go with a 7 foot 6 L rod from the newest Curado series from Shimano. I have one and it's one of those '' The ONE rod''. How I’d the action of this rod? Could it handle 3/8 plus a roughly 3in plastic? Occasionally fish 3...

Re: Small paddle tail rod… 76 preferred
I’m looking for something in the 76 range with a softer action. The Tatula Elite AGS 76MLM (Seth Feider model, not the Johnston model) is what you're looking for. It reminds me of the old blue Steez AGS 76MLM - softer through the tip and mid than the current Compile X Steez but plenty of backbone a...

Re: Small paddle tail rod… 76 preferred
https://keitech.co.jp/pages/600/ Pretty kool concept for BC option for paddletails. If I use a BC for 1/8-3/8 jigheads and 2.8-3.8 paddletails, I'm going to use my custom Vinnie Lamiglas Infinity 873, it's 7'3", with a fast/flexible 1/4 tip and shuts down into a very stout MH+ backbone. Additionall...

Re: Small paddle tail rod… 76 preferred
I'm assuming those are spinning rods? If so that's a pretty strong list. If you want a softer action and if you'll be using braid + leader, I would say the Fitzgerald All Purpose 7'6" medium should be on your radar as well. The ALX McSmalls is also one I have considered for these same techs Wasn’t ...

Small paddle tail rod… 76 preferred
Hello experts looking for feedback on a rod to throw small paddle tails. 2.8-3.5 open hook on up to 3/8 oz heads. Mostly open water applications, sometimes sparse cover. I’m looking for something in the 76 range with a softer action. I’ll be honest I don’t have much experience with this technique, b...

Re: Trika
300 for the production rod, 200 for the blank 🤔. I think I'll stick with Point Blank for now. Still need to try the new Eternity, and we have the new Epitome coming which will likely go on sale for 40 to 50 percent off. I agree. The point blanks have REALLY grown on me. I will say if the epitome go...

Re: Jerkbait Rod Question
Daiwa Tatula 701MRB is the finest jerkbait rod IMO. Perfect action, have caught tons of fish on a 110+1 on it. I got eyes on that rod, have you by chance tied any lighter jerks on it, 3/8 or 1/4oz? Also what line you running? I use it for 110s and x-nanahan +1 and 2. I usually just use 10lb copoly,...

Daiwa tatula 701mrb. Why pay more, especially for jerkbait fishing where sensitivity isn't paramount to success.

Has anyone built on a trika blank?
They're kinda spendy... $200 bucks a blank. My preferred blanks right now are point blank but I like the idea of another high end made in the us blank.

Re: Point Blank 701LXF - Project “Vader”
I can only judge from the RX10 ETES610MXF I got at home… as already said in the other thread I’m not impressed at all. Weight is great, balance is ok but still it doesn’t feel as crisp, floaty and sharp as my Point Blanks or other high end rods like NRX+. For that little power it should feel like a...
