Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
I've been a hardcore Shimano user/fanboy since I bought my first one in 1992 (tomato red) Curado. I'm still a big Shimano fan but have been disappointed since they decided to make a business decision to shift their Curado/Citica facility from Japan to Malaysia. A lot of my fishing buddies already ba...

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
Wow, Shimano starts coming out new Curado model every year now?
2014 - G series, piece of cr*p
2015 - I series, better version of cr*p
2016 - 70 series, tried to recover Curado name
2017 - ???
Shimano needs to bring back the 50E which is still the King of the Hill for Curado/Chronarch models.

Re: Goodbye Gander Mountain
I stopped by one store by my house and found a Shimano Sahara 2500FD (4-5 year old model?) looked like an used one which was returned. They put a yellow sticker price for $79.99 with 20% discount. I was laughing on the way to get out of that store.

Re: joeyblackwood : Feedback Request Topic
He posted a Chronarch 50MG for sale and it got my interest. After few PMs with him, I decided NOT to pursue the deal because of his attitudes (both in public and PM).

John,
Have you tried the new Conquest 100 yet? If yes, tell me why you think 50 is better?

Re: Metanium 13 and Chronarch CI4+ spools compatible
A lot of Shimano spools (100 or 200 size) can fit in other models BUT I would not do that cuz Shimano designs the spool for each model with a specific reason. You can ask Dan (aka Bantam1).
Spool can fit but it will defeat the original functions of the reel.

The new 100 is almost the same as the old 50 ... it casts a lot better.

This is one of the reason I love Shimano. Their customer service is the best in business.fishballer06 wrote:Shimano sent me a free return label yesterday and I have already sent the reel back to Shimano. They will be sending me a free replacement.

Dan,
I guess you go to R&D now? Best wish with your new position. I hope you still get a chance to travel around. I would like to see and talk with you again in FTU.

Re: Calcutta TE vs Calais
The OP just compares orange to apple.
CL200A is NOT a cranking reel at all.
Try CL200-5 (older model) or CL200APV and see how these reels crank. I own both of these.
I also own the Calcutta TE as well.
