Re: Finish issues on newer Shimano baitcasters

Looks like poor prep or bad primer, but have you bean using any bug spray? it will damage paint very quickly...

Re: Daiwa Steez SV 103XSL

I will be doing this comparison in a few days I have a Met 13 XG, Met. MGL XG and a Steezs SV 103XSL both of the Mets have the Brass gear conversion. I have them spooled with the same line so it will be a head to head test. I just bought a Curado K 201XG yesterday and it is going back today! I'm not...

Re: 300 size reel with these specs

I bought a couple of Super Duty's and sent them back they are not on the same level as the Lexa, The Lexa is a true heavy duty reel like the Curado 300, the Tran-X is nice but it's a little clunky or maybe just a little to heavy duty after handling them both I still prefer the Curado 300, my Lexa 30...

Re: Metanium MGL Issue

That thing should cast great, you might have grease on the spool shaft/pinion gear slowing it down? Mine easily out cast my 13 and it cast really good.

Might be worth a call to Shimano USA, you never know they might give you a break, they have always taken good care of me!

Re: Handle suggestions for Curado Bantam

Look at the Metanium handles, great bang for your buck and two different lengths to choose from. You can buy them from Shimano on their web site!

Re: Speed spool bearings

They look like repackaged chinese crap that you see on ebay, and the same goes for Bocas. I still cant fathom why people use Bocas, they are horrible bearings. Might as well buy the Chinese cheap ones, Im sure they are made by the same company. Stick to HH Studio or ZPi. +1 on this the Bocas I trie...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?

More intrigued by this reel than anything Shimano or Daiwa has offered up in at least the last 5 years. Truly looks like a do it all reel...it’s small, palmable, and powerful...and by all accounts should be bulletproof. It should cast down to 1/4 ounce with ease and with 150 sized spool should be c...

Re: Shimano’s Budget offerings

I'm glad you brought this up! their Spinning reels are the same way, I can't tell you how many times I have set up guest and friends up with various new out of the box sub $100.00 Shimano spinning reels just to have come back to me sometimes in hours and sometimes in days saying... there is somethin...

Re: Quantum reels

I bought some Quantum's when the company first started but they did not last long so I gave up on them. I pretty much used Shimano and Daiwa since then. The last few years though I have problems with there latest models. I have had issues with my Metainium, Chronarch, Curado 200i, and Curado 70. I ...

Re: LT versus Ci4+FB

I put out some stuff about the new tats earlier today...the 3k is larger than a 3k shimano. But 6.8 ounces with no line. I put some time on the Tatula lt about 30hrs so far of winter finesse fishing. I love it. I also have a ci4 on loan that i've fished and it's excellent as well. I haven't realy s...

Re: LT versus Ci4+FB

For what its worth I have not had good luck with the gear durability using a couple of Stradic FK 4000's and they use the same gear part numbers as the Ci4+ FB 4000. I will probably be moving all of my new Spinning reels to Daiwa LT's after thirty years of exclusive Shimano. The new Quantum Smoke S...
