Re: Opinions on Core 50mg7
I’m fortunate to own a Core Mg7 and yes, it’s a light reel! What hasn’t been mentioned is the 7:1 ratio vs your Ch50E, which I think is only 6:1. Even though the Core doesn’t have Xship or SVS, it can still land fish. If you like it and enjoy fishing with it, I’d say go for it. I think the technolog...

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
Any insight if they'll include a nicer rod sleeve? The current ones that come with an NRX don't really match a high end rod lol. My GLX center pin rod came with a super nice soft cloth rod sleeve. That was worthy of what you get with a Loomis rod. It's all about the finer details. A friend of mine b...

Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series
When Bantam1 mentioned that the rod will be assembled in the USA, it sounded like he was trying to assure the QC aspect of the rod. I've read quite a few NRX owners who felt QC was mediocre, at best. Sloppy epoxy, thread wraps not being tightly wrapped (my NRX exhibits this), rods being slightly cur...

Re: Sunline Siglon Fine Float II Line
I've used it on a centre pin reel fishing for salmon & rainbows. It was the worst line I've ever used. The way one sets up their tackle, you have your mainline (usually run 8lb-10lb mono) and run a fluoro leader (4lb-6lb) with a micro swivel between the two lines. The idea is if a fish breaks you of...

Re: Chronarch MGL
A friend took apart their Chronarch 51e to clean and when putting the parts back together, the drag washers were out on backwards and the drag ended up behaving how you described. Perhaps someone assembled incorrectly by mistake at the factory? I don't know how you can tell without taking apart the ...

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
As an angler that fishes from shore most of the time and on a boat once in a while, the 854C was my pick. Paired with a Met '13 with 30lb braid has been a pleasure to fish with. I've heard of so much positive feedback regarding the 893C, but I didn't think it would have been a practical shore fishin...

Re: Major Craft MS-X Limited 7'4" Heavy
Follow up report? I'm debating between the 6'9" MH and the one you have. Wondering if I should get the 7'4" H to balance better with a 2013 Metanium. I would like a MH instead tho...

Buy two of everything. One to use and abuse, the other to put on the shelf. The customers win, the manufacturers win, everybody wins!

Re: 13' Vanquish or Twinpower MG?
Could someone explain the differences between the vanquish models? For example C2500HGS C2500XGS 2500S 2500HGS Thank you. I have bought jdm casting reels but never an egg beater. Not super familiar with all the spool options. I often walleye fish and spool capacity of ci4+2500 is about perfect. The...

Man, that's exactly what I was looking to hear. Thanks for your helpful insight! Unfortunately, I also looked at the 2016 Vanquish :( Maybe, I'll just save a little more and just get the 2016 model. lol I saw the demo videos and jeez...Shimano has some awesome marketing people. lol Saw a few YouTube...

Re: 13' Vanquish or Twinpower MG?
what year Twinpower are you talking about? the mg model is pretty old, nice reel but older technology The Vanquish is newer ,with newer technology and IMO better smoother gearing The new Twinpower is only available in aluminum as far as I know The Vanquish is MG and CI4 sideplate and rotor super li...

13' Vanquish or Twinpower MG?
Been back and forth trying to decide which reel to go for. Prices have come down enough when compared to current models is a no brainer. Weight is kinda is less than an ounce difference, price is around $50-$75 difference, and the reel would be used for a variety of species. From bass to salmon and ...

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+
So, does that mean the Met '13 doesn't qualify as having MM gearing since it's not fully Mg, provided that the "Body B" means the side plate ? lol

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+
I'm not sure why Shimano decided not to highlight micromodule gearing on the ChCi4+...maybe to convince buyers to pay extra for the micromodule gearing feature on the Met? Micro Module doesn't work in Ci4+ frames due to the flex, so I've been told... I think Bantam1 also confirmed that the Ci4+ doe...

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+
ChCi4+ also uses Micromodule gears. There is no micromodule gear in Chronarch CI4+. If you dont believe me, may be official Shimano web will convince you: http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/reel/3512 About Shimano's website and marketing...I don't always believe what they say. lol Hagane...market...
