Re: How many Punching Setups
Ish is just doing that to be more efficient with his time during the day as he flips to different types of cover. I would say take all four sizes with you but you can fish them all on one or two rods. It just takes a few seconds to retie if you need more or less weight depending on cover. Here's a t...

Re: Is BASS back to nets?
I asked BASS about this on Twitter after they had several tournaments in a row where guys were badly hooked with crankbait hooks and needed to go back to the marina or to the hospital for treatment (like Palaniuk at Bull Shoals). They said it's something they will consider but that nets on the Elite...

Re: 3 baits on a donkey thrasher
I used the Donkey Thrasher last week on a lake where you can only have 3 baits, it worked great. I was using 3.8 inch Keitech swing impact fat swimbaits or 4" white grubs. I rigged it with a 1/4 oz head on the bottom, 1/8 oz heads on the sides, and an unweighted swimbait/grub on the top attached wit...

Smallmouth and deep diving cranks
I read an article a while back where Joe Balog said that he prefers to use a DT-16 for smallmouth instead of other deep diving cranks because it has a tighter wiggle and the smallmouth tend to prefer that to a wide wobbling bait. Anyone else find that to be true? Which deep divers do you catch the m...

Re: Black topwaters?
(BTW I looooooove the Lucky Craft MS Black color with those scales, awesome). There's a better color...but you can't get it stateside and it is hard to find. ;) Ok, you've peaked my interest. Is there somewhere I can look this up at? You mean this one? Called "Aurora Full Black," looks awesome. Jap...

Re: Black topwaters?
Thanks Mattman, totally agree. I know they'll work, the reason I thought this was post-worthy is that I think it's something that's largely overlooked by bass fishermen and the tackle industry generally. Black is probably by far the #1 selling frog, you wouldn't even consider releasing a frog bait w...

Re: Why do some bass get "bugged out" eyes?
Yes, it's old age, not necessarily size. If you catch a 10+ with little eyes (like the one in that article), that's still a relatively young fish, with potential to get truly huge!

Black topwaters?
So we know black is one of the best, if not the best color for a frog. I use black almost all the time. Black is a popular buzzbait color too. So why do we hardly ever use black with other topwaters, other than maybe at night? What about black spooks and poppers? I know most manufacturers offer blac...
