Re: Shimano A-RB Bearing sizes

I have a very extensive database of Shimano bearing sizes, but no record of them ever using 4x10x4mm bearings in their reels. Sorry.

Plain old Ronsonol lighter fluid (naphtha). Works great, won't harm plastics, and it's CHEAP!! :P

Re: ABU 5500 C

Good morning! I have taken this down and rebuilt the unit with all new everything. Free spools great. Turning the crank gives a noticable grind sound and feel. Main gear looks fine...what could be going on? Grinding sounds don't usually come from bad gears - they just feel really rough. Did you get...

My info shows the spool bearings to both be 3x10x4
Is this correct? Thanks

Re: ABU C4 spool shaft questions

I noticed on my new C4 that the cast control pushes on the spool shaft which then pushes on the inner race of the right side spool bearing. This seems a very poor design and I was wondering if someone has developed a fix? Possibly a washer that transfers the force to the bearing's outer race? Also,...

affordable, and one of the best: http://www.staminainc.com/hooks/vmc/vmc7541hook.html Amen Jeff!! Those Vanadium trebles are definitely good ones. Re: Advice needed on new trebles for old lures

I'm new to the forum, and this is my first post. I bought a bunch of stuff at a garage sale that included many lures like jitterbugs, zara spooks, etc. The treble hooks aren't rusted, but there is some corrosion. Furthermore, some of the hooks don't move freely. I want to replace them, but I've nev...

Re: Citica 100DSV & Curado 100D Nearly Identical?

Good point on the spool...I hadn't really considered that. Still, for the cost I've seen the Citica online, it would seem fairly close to the Curdao if you upgrade the bushing and gearing along with some ABEC5/ABEC7 spool bearings. I think I'm leaning toward the Citica... Get the Citica 100DSV and ...

I'm trying to replace the drag washers with Carbontex, but I can't get the left side(handle side) reel cover off? I can't even remove the spool either! I taken off all the screws, handle and bearing clips etc.... but the spool won't come out or the side plate to access the drag washers, what's keep...

Re: Scorpion MG drag star ?

Is there any aftermarket drag stars for the Scorpion? I don't like the stock plastic one and was wanting to upgrade it if I could. Would the drag star from the new Curado 100 fit? Thanks guys. It should fit, but you'll need to replace the "square nut" below it as the one on the CU-100D is larger th...

Re: Need Screws for my Metanium - HELP

Bought this reel a year or so ago, the screws that hold the handle on have came loose and vibrated out and I lost them. Where can I find these screws to buy? Is this something a normal reel repair shop would carry? They are different then all my other Shimano reels. Posted this in Shimano Tech area...
