Re: Tough and Strong, Sufix's Advance Fluorocarbon Fishing Line

Thank you for the extended reply, Cal.
I guessed you were using the Uni to Uni because of the size of the knot, but I was forgetting that you were using 50# test braid. For that size braid, I wouldn't knock your results with the FG knot. Good job!

Re: Tough and Strong, Sufix's Advance Fluorocarbon Fishing Line

Cal, what's that connection knot you're using? Guessing from what I can see in the picture, I'd say it was a uni-to-uni.
How about an article on connection knots? I realize it's a lot of work, but it would certainly be helpful to your readers.
Thank you,

Dropped the "1" in front of 5.3oz when giving the measured weight of the reel in the initial specs table. :-$

Re: Spro's Mike McClelland McStick 95 Rip Bait

Cal, I use snaps all the time, systematically removing the split ring from lures that come with one. I'm like to know under what circumstances you prefer to tie to the split ring. Maybe I'm missing something?
Thanks!

Re: Spro's Mike McClelland McStick 95 Rip Bait

Any particular reason why you use both a split ring and a snap simultaneously on this lure? [-X

Re: A First Look Inside Shimano’s New Curado Compact High Sp

"the most compact Curado Series reels that we have seen to date" Actually smaller than the 50/51E series?

Shockwave and S-Caper lures

Yo, Wolbugger!
The "total score" indicated at the beginning of the review and that shown in the summary table at the end are different.
Could you take a look?

Thanks!

Re: Swimming Heads : Strike King's Red Eye Shad

So, are the hooks VMCs or Eagle Claws? Does Strike King use different brands of hooks for different size lures? :?:
Thanks, Cal!

Rev up your fishing with Abu Garcia's Revo SX20 Spinning Ree

Woolbugger, you have me scratching my head when you rate the BRAKES on this spinning reel. ](*,) I just can't figure it out. Could you explain what you're referring to? Winter hit us pretty early up here this year and I hope I'm not suffering from cabin fever already!!!
Thanks!

The review is silent  on the subject of DC-whining. Is the reel silent too?

Beyond Spybaiting: DUO Realis Jerkbait 100SP

Wolbugger, could you please specify what the water temperature was when you compared the suspending abilities of the DUO vs Megabass vs Luck-E-Strike? Since most suspending lures will rise, suspend or sink depending on the water's temperature, I think an evaluation should always include said tempera...

Re: The Search For One : Guess Who's Back Building Rods?

Surprise, surprise: "the balance is quite extraordinary". A coincidence that this rod's a full grip (like the MBR783C GLX2000 that's also superb)? I think not. All the PR guano in the world won't change the laws of physics! [-X

Re: Redefining a Classic, the Lew’s BB1 Baitcaster

Sorry to hear about your friend, Zander, and many thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed answer under those conditions. I'm sure you'll "forgive" me for still being obsessed with distance, as I'm stuck on shore and any extra distance I can get is a godsend. As a matter of fact...

Wow! 70 YARDS without breaking a sweat? With two brakes on? Are you sure? What rod and lure? Maybe you should run an article on your distance casting secret(s)!
