Re: What is your "all around" spinning stick?

NRX 852s or the 872s. Great rods for so many things.

On a budget the ALX Maestro is really nice for many things too.

I lucked into a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth Rod rod under $100 (olive colored blank) exceptional rod for anything around 1/4 to 3/8 oz.

Re: What is wrong with Quantum

I am sure they make ok reels for the average angler. But for TT members and enthusiasts they fall short in many area. They don’t have limited offerings, nothing of great value in terms of collectibility, you don’t have all the fun spool options, no BFS options, not many aftermarket parts, no JDM app...

Re: Flipped my yak

What about putting a rod float on each rod just in case something happens?

Sorry to hear of your losses. Glad you are safe though

No worries Cal. I have thick skin and didn’t take it as harsh.

Re: What brand makes super soft hollow body frogs?

Live target has soft and collapsible frogs.

I also really like the Jackall frogs especially in the smaller sizes.

Re: NEED help choosing a new reel

I’d go with a good condition used OG Steez 103 from one of the Japan sites for around $170 Wouldn't an OG Steez 100 be better? From what I've read the 103 can be hairy with lighter weights unless you change the spool ... The original Steez 103 comes with a Type R+ spool. It is made to handle lighte...

Re: NRX (Blue) 873crr and 893jwr

893- excellent feel- 3/8 oz is the sweetspot zone. Jigs, Texas rigs and weightless plastics 873- good feel- 3/8 a 5/8 is the sweet spot range. Good for any bottom contact. More powerful than the 893 but not as powerful as the 894. The 873 gives you more vertsatility with the fast action vs xf of the...

Go all out and source the parts you need while you can. Years from now they will likely more $ and harder to source. Perhaps this one of mine can be of inspiration. Re: Speaking of Pixies

Definitely looks pretty. I will absolutely never use this pixy because it’s in my NIB gems pile but wouldn’t be opposed to finding a fisher to actually try. I’ve never used the platform Thanks! Yes, one for the shelf and one for the lake sounds like a good plan. But after fishing a modded one you m...
