Re: How do you fondle your rod?

i hold it, slap it in the butt and shake it the hell out of it.... like i do with my women. jk. but i really do that with the rod. i get a sense of the action and weight by doing that. can also feel the "crispness".

Re: Preferred reels for distance

30lb braid. 1016 spool. very very hard to beat. better bust out the spinning reel.

Re: SV Spool Inductor

any updates on how to fix the inductor sticking out? i took a close look and it looks like a piece of plastic gets wedged in with another piece of plastic on the spool shaft. i think filling in that gap will resolve this problem.

that shouldnt throw off the balance of the spool right?

Re: Which Daiwa for light stuff?

the sv spool handles 1/4 hardbaits like a champ. no need for a true bfs spool unless u plan on going under 1/8 in total weight

Re: t3 hood snapped in half

i usually shut the hood with my thumb and this time i broke it. its kind of my fault because i got sand in it while trying to take a rod reel fish pic. it was stuck and i pressed pretty hard.

i will call that number. thanks alot

Re: BFS Challenge

stick with the super shallow spools, run 10lb braid and change leader line size (short leader) depending on how much you wanna lean on them. the real benefit of bfs in my view is being able to cast micro baits with larger line if needed. something you cant do even on spinning tackle unless its got b...

Re: BFS Challenge

im sure you guys are capable. another variable is not all hardbaits are created equal when it comes to casting. berkleys 1/8oz flicker shad cast HORRIBLE. rapala countdown is a lot better. when it comes to spoons and spinners. the bfs bass rods can fling those good. but cranks and jerkbaits is where...

Re: BFS Challenge

save yourself the trouble and get a custom trout rod wrapped. you going to save yourself tons of money and time looking for a bfs bass rod that can throw those lures good.

dont be like me wasting years figuring out how to dial it in. proper rod is 90% of the battle for those tiny hardbaits

Re: BFS Challenge

i would like to add i chuck a 1/8 rapala countdown well over 20 yards. pushing close to even 30.

my major craft corzza rated 1/32-1/4 doesnt even come close to the distance, control or lure placement. has a hell of alot more backbone but backbone is worthless without a lure in a fishes mouth.

Re: BFS Challenge

you going to need a noodle like rod to throw 1/16 to 1/8 hardbaits. if you worried about capacity and stopping power put on light braid with a heavier fluoro leader. from my experience.... you are not going to find a bfs bass rod that can handle those baits well. they are alittle optimistic with the...
