Re: Favorite Jerkbait NOT named LC or Megabass

i *could* list out all the JDM and non-JDM jerkbaits i've used, but none of them have caught a shark except one... a legit catch too, hook in jaw and not a snag!

Re: Parts numbers needed

I have tried a Curado 50E brass washer, BNT4151, and it doesn't work. I get side to side knob movement with the Curado washer. you could always try doubling up on that washer if there's too much lateral play... alternatively, you could pick up some of the handle knob washers from the Curado ...

Re: Millionaire sideplate rings

I just check my I'ZE Light, it doesn't has metal C wire, but plastic instead. I am afraid I would break it when pulling it out. i just noticed this statement... are you sure its plastic? that is a very big surprise to me. if plastic, it should be a bit more flexible and easier to remove, though i c...

Re: Millionaire sideplate rings

So I don't need to remove the mag brake part, but only pull out the C shape wire like this? correct, if you only wish to replace the sideplate ring then the mag brake assembly can be left untouched. the wire retainer is part #6 in the i'ze light 103 schematic. it can be removed from either directio...

Re: RAID Japan Two Side

Man are they expensive. i actually like that they are rather pricey...on the other side of the coin, i tend to be wary of clearance priced baits in the bargain bin. the bait industry is highly competitive in Japan, so for the MSRP to be at this price point implies a level of quality and that RAID h...

Re: Baitcasting reel for 1/2-1oz question, 2013.

This baitcasting reel has to be saltwater friendly too. the above statement is the criteria i would use to narrow the field. many reels will perform well casting 1/2 - 1oz aerodynamic lures, so i would place greater emphasis on a reel design that will allow for easy takedown and frequent maintenanc...

Re: C clip removal and re-install

I use needlenose to put the clips back on. hey JB no problem! i also use a needlenose for the install, specifically the craftsman mini longnose pliers (center in the pic) that came in a blister pack set ...works great for hard to access spots: http://toolmonger.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/post-p...

Re: C clip removal and re-install

generally i see more E-clips than C clips in reels... the latter i find easier to remove. here's a trick a reel technician taught me:

Re: outdated legendary tackle

i was going to nominate the current Purefishing round reel lineup but i see for 2014 they've been updated with the bent handle/star design, so i must retract... maybe Purefishing will re-release the EON Pro with a shallow spool, dual braking, and CF bent handle with X-Mag knobs to further push the l...

Do you guys know of any other reels that clicks when the drag is being pulled out besides this two: 1) Shimano Exsence DC 2) Daiwa Z2020 SHL i know the Calcutta TE 300/400 and Conquest 300/400 have that feature, as well as the Conquest 50DC. and if you dont mind oldies but goodies, a few ABU classi...
