Finally got my first JDM Shimano reel!! Bought a Shimano 1501. Bought it for $40 on ebay.

Got the guides laid out today. Tried wrapping them with the box and phone book method and that's not going to happen. So I'm going to order a rod wrapper.

Excuse the carpet. It's my first house and I'm not the best at cleaning!!!!

Got the reel seat and handle epoxied on today!! Next time I will make sure to put more epoxy on for the reel seat. Tomorrow I plan on getting my guide placement for a spiral wrap and I plan on wrapping it during the mornings this week!

I'm using a fiberglass tube as my handle for my flipping rod build (Batson RX7 IFS904) and I wasn't going to run a forgrip. My question is when you guys don't run a forgrip how do you cover up the front of the reel seat? It doesn't look like a normal winding check will cover.

All I saw was the yellow accent on the handle and it was late. The next post I corrected myself and stated it was a Steez.
