Try the neoprene Pro version. I have some and the opening is larger than the regular expanding type covers.

Re: LT versus Ci4+FB
The Tatula LT and Ballistic LT are Zaion and that's been around a while. Whatever your thoughts on the material will probably hold true for these two reels...assuming there's no flaw in the design.

Could be the tip top is simply glued on a little crooked.

Re: Shimano Expride 6'10" Medium (2017)
The new Exprides are labeled as having more Americanized tapers vs the jdm tapers of the ones being replaced. I haven't handled one of the new Exprides but I'd bet the tapers are more in line with the usdm Zodias rods.

Re: Power handles for Shimano low profile?
Not sure how long you're looking for but Shimano's new XG gear ratio reels like the Met MGL/Chronarch MGL come with longer handles. You can order them right from Shimano's site https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/landing.jsp# Or better yet complete 96mm handles from The Tackle Trap. http://tackletrap.c...

Re: Knob caps - Scorpion 1000XT
I've ordered Stella knob caps when I wanted a silver color for a reel without them. If I remember right they're nicer than the chromed plastic that came on some of the cheaper reels...metal perhaps...been a while since I had them. https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_...

Re: Is a Stella worth it?
I'd look at the 16 Vanquish. Especially for light spinning as you mentioned. The two reels are nearly identical in features but the Vanquish is quite a bit lighter.

Re: Dropshot foulups
Are you using a fluoro leader...or what line/lb test? Some brands and types are stiffer than others and kinda uncoil themselves when this happens...and yeah, those little smallies can go bonkers...like you shocked 'em or something.

Re: Flippin'/ pitchin'; same thing, right?
i remember 20 years ago the 6'10" rod was all the rage as the "perfect pitchin rod". how times have changed I like a 6'6" to 6'8" for pitching. I have more control and accuracy. Longer rods I can't get the rod tip low enough with out making contact with the boat sides. I have pain in my elbows and ...

Re: How much are delivery fees on JDM rod?
I've ordered many 2pc rods and those ship EMS. No customs or delivery fees on them. I've also ordered 6 one pc rods from jangler, Megabass, and digitaka. Those all shipped UPS. I never got dinged with any customs or UPS charges either. I've only ever paid for shipping directly to the seller at the t...

Appear to be black Fuji SS/Alconites. Like the new Destroyers.Canga- wrote:
i do wish they would say what guides they put on them, can tell from the pics that they are a tangle free design (on the spinning rods anyways) but no mention of brand or insert material.

Re: Rod for light (1/64th ounce) jigs
The Phenix Elixir has a 5'6" F (FX561-1) but it's rated to 1/32.
Majorcraft has some nice trout rods in the Finetail series. Eging JDM rods might be worth a look...even though many are longer rods there's some shorter ones.
