Re: Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+
It’s not a bad stick at all, for me I have rods that cross over just as well. It does have backbone and I see no situation except in the most extreme circumstances where the fish blots in to the thickest of cover that you would feel that the backbone is less than adequate. And even still it has the...

Re: Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+
I would be interested to hear whether this could be good for 1/4 oz tubes - exposed hook of course - on say 10lb. FC. Just not sure if it has the backbone being labeled as a medium-light plus? The 7'2" MH Expride is too heavy IMO to fish 1/4 tubes; better for 3/8th and 1/2 oz. I'd rather not use spi...

Re: Light BFS or ML rod for finesse.
Just getting ready to go out on the river. It was so cold out last night that I had ice on the yak. They're only calling for a high of 52 degrees today with rain. Here's the balance point. With it being so light, it's very enjoyable to fish with all day. https://i.vgy.me/QgM3Ed.jpg Here's the littl...

Good news for Falcon rod fans
FYI, I ordered a few things from the Falcon website and they were kind enough to include their 2020 catalog. Even though it doesn't state that any of their rods are made in the US, they are going to have the Caras, including the micro guide versions (CCM) and the Mike McClelland versions (MMC)!! It ...

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone
Fenwick re introduced their Techna AV series as the Techna PX series with 3M Powerlux resin. These are full handle cork rods. The Techna AV was the best line of rods ever made by Fenwick in the early 2000-2007 time period and were very popular amongst the BASS/FLW pros during that time.and the firs...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
Thanks, Gary. I fish a lot of Falcon Caras so I am familiar with mod-fast actions. Never owned a Megabass rod so am half excited (to try one) and half nervous (for my wallet). I fish smallies on St Clair and Erie about half the open water season so I expect the Enforcer would become a main weapon.

I would have loved a casting version for sure! But will just have to take a leap and "buy and try", lol

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
Has anyone ordered and fished the Enforcer spin rod yet? I am this close to pulling the trigger but haven't seen or read much online in the way of reviews. My plan is to use it for tubes for smallies - just what the rod is made for so am hoping it's the real deal.

Curado 100B upgrade
I've tried emailing a couple reel shops directly but no responses yet. Does anyone know if there are aftermarket reel handles available that fit a Curado 100B? I have two and they're probably my favorite reels even though they are "outdated." I would like to upgrade to a newer, slightly longer reel ...

Re: St croix Legend Elite / Loomis GLX
I agree with mysteryang's comments. I also fish Legend Extreme spinning rods as well as Avids. St Croix's fast actions are truly fast action. But they do tend to underrate the power of their rods - meaning their M power are more like a M-MH and their MH are more MH-H power. But if it says fast actio...

Re: 13 Fishing Muse Gold rods
With apologies to the OP, I also fish Envy spin rods but not the Muse spin rods so I have nothing to add other than I too am interested in how the Muse Gold rods perform for smallie finesse fishing. timsford, I am surprised the ML St Croix is too powerful for your soft plastics. I fish their 7'ML Le...

Re: Terrible customer service at 13 Fishing
Completely agree, earthworm. I still have not heard back from 13. I sent them my email and phone in a PM in response to one of their reps requesting this. Lesson learned, I should have stayed with Falcon, St Croix and Dobyns. Thought I would give this new company a shot but after this experience, ne...
