Used Shimano Aldeberan MGL 51 - Questions
I picked up a used Shimano Aldeberan MGL 51. It's used, but the braking is different, see pics. I've not seen this before the braking. It has 12 extra strong magnets that I pulled off for now. Previous owner from what I learned modded it to this braking. Checking out the reel, seems all to be workin...

Ok sounds good, thanks for your help!
I'll use 65lb braid that I have or maybe 50lb braid, wondering if a slight weight difference would make a difference

Re: 2024 Shimano SLX 70 Question
Thank you Bantam1! As much as I'd like to get the new SLX 70, if there is no change to frame size, then I'll stick with my SLX MGL 70. It performs quite well for me. Thank you again, Sir!

Re: 2024 Shimano SLX 70 Question
Hi Bantam1, I am curious if the 2024 SLX 70 is a smaller Frame than the SLX MGL 70. Or are both similar frames?

2024 Shimano SLX 70 Question
I have the Shimano SLX MGL 70 Casting Reel. I am curious is the frames are the same. I'm interested with the 2024 SLX 70, if there's much difference from that and the SLX MGL 70. I know the 2024 model has Silent Tune and weight differences is minimal. Would it be worth getting the new SLX if I have ...

Shimano Conquest BFS Brake Dial Question
Hi,
I just got the Conquest BFS yesterday.
Can you confirm for me please, the magnetic brake dial; is it suppose to click or not click. I know the star drag and spool tension knob clicks. That's odd that the magentic brake dial doesn't click to show/feel the braking suppose to get stronger.

Any Experience With This Gomexus Carbon Handle?
Looking to upgrading this to a Conquest BFS 23 from the stock 80mm handle. This handle is 85mm and will be ordering from aliexpress.
I guess my concern are the reel knows. How are they to grip and will they last? Is the feel of the grips mushy or more firm?

Aldebaran 23 BFS Frame Material
What is the frame material of the 23 Aldebaran BFS? I see some sites say it's magnesium and others say it's Hagane.
Which material is being used?

Shimano Not Including Reel oils???
I just received my 22 Aldeberan BFS yesterday and was surprised there were neither the reel oil or BFS bearing oil included. I saw some YouTube vids on unboxing of this reel and to my surprise again, oil are not supplied. Also saw some unboxing of the 23 Conquest BFS and again, no oils included. WHY...

22 Aldeberan BFS Line Choice Help
I have a 22 Aldeberan BFS on order from Japan. I normally use 15 lb, 4 lb diameter Power Pro original on most of of my BFS reels. In regards to the 22 Aldeberan BFS, am I able to still use the same braid line I've been always used? Or is there a braid line and line weight that would work better than...

Daiwa Tatula SV TW 70 & Daiwa Alphas SV TW 800 Question
I do own the Tatula SV TW 70 in left hand. Just curious if the Alpha SV TW 800 use the same frame as the SV TW 70, or are they 2 different reels.
Since having the SV TW 70, not sure if adding a SV TW 800 in left hand will be beneficial if both reels are very similar but with differences.

Why Are (Most) BFS Rods Are 2 Piece Rods?
Most BFS rods are 2 piece and some are 3 piece rods, why? I know some are 1 piece rods like the Phenix Classic BFS and Dobyns Ultra Finesse Sierra rods. I do prefer 1 piece rods, cuz I feel that the rod has better sensitivity than multiple piece rods. Case in point, I do own a couple of the Phenix C...
