Re: Buying rods thru buyee/yahoo jp

Yes, I am a slow learner. As I mentioned in my earlier reply, I would only use them for something I couldn't find elsewhere. Well, I found a rod I've wanted for a while and got it for a much cheaper price than I would on ebay or if someone was selling one in the classifieds. The shipping was $...

Re: Buying rods thru buyee/yahoo jp

That's crazy. How on Earth can Shimreels send rods from Singapore with free shipping and tracking, but buyee charges $200 and uses a cardboard box? I would never ever ever use them. JDM grass is not THAT much greener... Shimreels has a corporate account and their rates are much different than the a...

Re: First order with The Tackle Trap

Came here to post my ditto for the thread. Gary and Brian have been great to deal with it—fast shipping and patience for a multitude of questions. I’ve ordered several rods from them and had a reel or two upgraded. Highly knowledgeable and great service. Can’t wait for my recent order to come tomorr...

Re: Just some new stuff

I love seeing all the pictures in these threads, but have a rookie question... What is the handle offset on some of those rods for? I see it on a lot of the highly regarded JDM rods, but have no idea what it is for... That's the Megabass "slant bridge" that appeared on some models (i.e. D...

Have you used the MB Seven Eleven rods before? If so, what techniques do you plan on using it for?

Re: Sadly done with Shimano Baitcasters

Interesting topic.

For me, it's the opposite. Outside of the Megabass tuned Daiwa reels, I prefer Shimano by a wide margin. I got rid of the last Steez reels that I had--the Metaniums have been much better reels for me.

Ultimately, it's fishing and should be fun--so use what you like.

Re: Best place to get micro crankbaits

Ichibantackle might have what you are looking for. EMS shipping is quick--3 or 4 days.

Also, fishusa carries ultralight stuff.

Re: "fun factor" fishing set up.

Majorcraft MS-X 65 L with Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG. I have 6 lb fluro on it now and landed a 5+ lb largemouth with that and 1/8 oz jig recently. That setup is my dedicated BFS and it is fun catching fish with that--especially hooking into something with size. MB Super Eiger with MB Zonda Hedgehog re...

Need to know when the mother of all classified sales begins... [-o<  That'd be intense... Unfortunately, that's probably not going to happen. I've grown tired of listing my stuff for sale because most people on here are looking for deals. Anything that I have that's worth selling I won't...

Re: Best rod in $150-$200 range?

The best rods you will find for $150-$200 are $250-$350 used rods with lifetime trasferable warranties. Many found here, many more found on Ebay and the like. Rep samples and members' here are the best. 4 different GLXs tyd for $240 asking , various types and powers here just recently, amongst othe...

Re: Best rod in $150-$200 range?

Majorcraft. I recently got an MS-X (just a bit above $200) and was really impressed with the build quality and components used for the price point. This is a BFS rod (6' 5" L model). They do sell "regular" bass rod lengths and lure ratings. I'm sure that someone on this board can chi...

Re: New Chatterbait

Taken from the BBC boards--post was made by a representative of Zman: someone just gave me a heads up about this thread, and I wanted to provide a little bit of first-hand information on the new ChatterBait Jack Hammer that will be released at the Bassmaster Classic in a few weeks. We have been plan...
