Re: Best buzzbait

Another vote for Cavitron.

However, for a "finesse" buzzbait, I really like the Picasso Buzz Saw Jr (1/8 oz). Caught a 6 lber and several in the 2 to 3 range since June with it. It gets on plane pretty quickly and can be crawled across the surface like a Cavitron.

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?

Best producing baits for me this year:

lipless cranks
neko rig (usually jackall neko worm)
keitech paddletails

honorable mention: MB Dark Sleeper

Little confidence in:

deep diving cranks
a-rig
big spinnerbaits

Re: JDM Rod for Finesse Jigs

I've not used the 853c, I only went by the ratings.. One of my favorite Gloomis rods. It works really well with bottom contact up to 1/2 oz. Also, does well with flukes. It's not JDM, but ticks all of the other boxes. For JDM, MB X7 Bearing Down (6'11"), or Evergreen Black Racer (6'6"), but those a...

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor

Now we’re talking: Some additional honorable mentions to fill out the all stars above: ... Luxxe oltre (pick a length and action to your liking and it’s the one you’ll swear by) Newer gen stand outs: Steez racing design 701mh/hfb (this is the one I would keep if I had to choose only one) Grand cobr...

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor

Shimano Poison Ultima 66. This rod is a winner for the search for one. Does everything really well in its 1/4 - 3/4 range. I'll start the day with topwater with it, use a swimming senko/crankbait later on and fish with something t-rigged. Sensitivity is on par with anything out there and the versat...

Re: High end JDM rod recommendations

Ultima and Designo would both be at the top of my list. Designo is a blank manufacturer that used to make blanks for companies like Evergreen (anyone remember the triggerless Stingray model? ). Yes! The triggerless Stingray was new rod for this season. Loving that rod for bait finesse, un...

Re: High end JDM rod recommendations

You guys are seriously not making it any easier to decide lol.. ultima was definitely one of my top choices a long side either major craft, daiwa, and mega bass. But now I see all these new suggestions, tough decisions... Well, you are in the enthusiast section of TT, so the assumption is that you'...

Re: High end JDM rod recommendations

Preach! That goes for a lot of JDM rods, I think. Versatility is King. My beloved Major Crafts are the same way, especially the 66M/R, 610M/R, 67MH/RF, & 70MH/RF. Really, every rod in the series is as adept with moving baits as it is bottom contact baits within its rating and they're all lightweigh...

Re: High end JDM rod recommendations

Shimano Poison Ultima 66M (Versatile). This rod is "it" in terms of versatility which the OP asked about. I will literally start with a topwater bait, switch over to a swimming senko/MB Dark Sleeper and finish with something texas rigged/jig as the sun gets higher. I have little doubt that it would ...

Re: Cost to ship a rod is lunacy

I still don't understand how people ship rods for 20$. I shipped two rods <7'4" for 45$. Bronzefly stated that all shipping companies changed their policy, and items over X length will be hit with massive charges. Depends on what you have access to. I have access to a good fedex account through wor...

Re: Evergreen Super Stallion

I don't tournament fish, I don't need a rod for every different type of lure I own. If I could scroll back 18 months, I would have only bought the best of the best, even if that meant having only few combo's. You, me and probably 90% of us on these forums. I disagree slightly on the "good val...

Re: Evergreen Super Stallion

I just got my first Evergreen rod the Kaleido Stingray 66 and am super impressed. By today's standards it would be a little heavy for its power but wow is the workmanship on this rod fantastic and it has the "it" factor in spades. Perfect for small jigs, ned rigs, and things like that as well as be...

That's it. Hope I like it.
It's a different in some respects to the TKLC (full cork version). I have both rods. The TKIC feels a touch stiffer and the two rods load a bit differently. I haven't noticed any differences in sensitivity--both are excellent.

Re: Issues with Tackle Warehouse

TW lists dates for when out of stock items will be available based upon what the manufacturer tells them (as nearly every site). Yeah, that leads to disappointment when that date gets pushed back. I too don't order items that are out of stock due to this (especially for new items that will often hav...
