Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!
Spool looks to be same as in new Steez CT so performance should be very similar for lot less money I remember seeing in one of the Japanese videos say it was the same spool as the Steez CT. Mine cleared customs today, should be here today or tomorrow for sure! \:D/ Interested to see how this little...

Re: Need a differential diagnosis...
I usually have this happen at one time or another with my reels. Its usually just a piece of crud on the pinion. I've had it be a piece of drag material and I even found a small piece of hair that made its way over from japan. I would give it a thorough cleaning and see how it feels before looking a...

Is this CT 70 the successor of the 105?
70 vs 105 suggest it be smaller/lighter but weight is almost the same.
Its the same reel with a different color scheme and a smaller 30mm spool. It looks to be the successor to the 15 alphas sv.

Re: Should I go BFS?
Absolutely go bfs. Its loads of fun casting bitty baits with casting gear. For me BFS has a few advantages over spinning gear: no line twist, faster follow up casts and to be able more accurately control how hard the lure hit the water. If I were you I'd grab a spool for the 50e, the avail spools ha...

Re: Conquest bfs w Avail spool and magnets?
Thank you. Stacking / minor surgery is ok since stock spool is easily reinstalled (I guess) Its not even surgery, to pull the stacked magnets off is just like pulling a magnet off the fridge. They just pop right off with a good tug. If you want to mess with braking force you can tinker with differe...

Re: Conquest bfs w Avail spool and magnets?
The avail magnets stack on top of the stock magnets to get close enough to the avail spool to have braking force. The stack is too tall to use with the stock spool.

Re: BFS Casting Motion - why not a full on 'whip'?
Ive tested many different bfs combos and lure weight ranges from .64g on up. If the combo youre using is not allowing you to use full smooth casts then you either have something not set right or its not designed to throw that weight. For instance when i try and toss a sub 3g lure on a med power rod ...

Re: Ultimate Cost No Object BFS reel for 1/32 or lighter lures?
Thanks everyone! Helpful to know where the 'bleedin edge' is. You mean that avail trout spool weighs only 4.75 grams WITH the bearings? What is that spool without bearings then? (Doing a search online, I thought sellers are listing that at 7.5 grams so I must not be looking at the right spool. That...

Re: Ultimate Cost No Object BFS reel for 1/32 or lighter lures?
The rod will have to be built off a trout or fly blank to load at all with 1g lures regardless so assuming you have that. Stock reel: air stream custom or 16 aldebaran bfs or abu bf8 Modified reel: 16 aldebaran bfs with avail trout spool (4.75g with bearing) along with the additional magnet kit that...

Re: Alphas finesse spools
With the bearing and rotor the ktf v2 spool is actually around 8.8g. Cosugi works is 7.75g with bearing. The alphas has a few options, you can cheap out and grab a rays spool and they are pretty light as well. Or you can use spacers and put in a 32mm air spool or go down to the 31mm air stream custo...
