Had to put the sv spool in for a quick pic. The first pixy sv?

That is awesome! Does it perform as well as it looks?

Haven't tested it with the SV but with the cosugi it works wonderfully.

Re: Phenix Feather Light

1/8oz the stock spool can handle. The spool thats in the reel is the alphas air stream custom spool. The spool can cast even lighter than 1/16 but the rod wont load with that light of a weight.

Re: Phenix Feather Light

http://i64.tinypic.com/otqmmv.jpg I have that rod with a pixy on it. Its a nice rod for the price, no bells or whistles but id say its similar if not a tag more sensitive than the og tatula line of rods. The light power weighs 3.0oz and it is soft but not too soft. I've casted as light as 1/16oz bu...

Re: brass gears in 6.9 oz reel

Px68 and px type r are brass geared and are around 5.8oz. Alphas air and airstream custom are under 6oz with brass gears and aluminum frame.

Re: Finesse Baitcasting

Everyone's definition of finesse will be different. Finesse is what you want it to be, the difference will be in the equipment required to cast you're finesse weights. For me my finesse is 1/8oz and under total weight, so to get this weight with a baitcaster I have to run light and UL powered rods a...

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?

1/8 to 1/4 is more of a power bfs to me. You could get a bfs spool for your met but since this is TT i see a great reason to get another reel. The 105 sized daiwas and the aldebaran mgl would be high on the list for your weight range.

Re: Reel frames that help or hinder hookset

I think the rod and reel have have impact on how the setup behaves in hand. I have smallish hands so smaller reels in general work better for me along with smaller reel seats. Im more of a finesse stream fisher and bfs is at the top of what i use which lends well to the pixy, 50e, aldebaran sized re...

Re: If I need new BFS reel?

Bfs is the only area where i do think bearings can help. Ive run flushed stock shimano and daiwa bearings compared to the air bfs bearings and spool startup is easier with the bfs bearings. The lighter the lure the more i can see a difference. Over an 1/8oz i dont notice as much but down around a 1/...

Re: If I need new BFS reel?

http://i64.tinypic.com/otqmmv.jpg I have 3 bfs setups currently The silver pixy with an air stream custom spool The white pixy modified to take the 33mm cosugi works spool And the aldebaran with the 918tr avail spool All can cast 1/8oz or less. The aldebaran can cast the lightest with the most ease...

Re: Introducing the Cosugi works pixy...

Its all about the using quality components and prep work when it comes to long lived paint. But compared to daiwa factory paint just about anything beats that.

Re: Introducing the Cosugi works pixy...

Probably a combo of the paint, longer handle and bigger spool making the body look smaller?
