Re: Shimano BFS rods question

Ratings and reality are two different things. I have rods rated down to 1g and there's no way 1g will load them. I also have a rod rated at 3.5g on the low end but I have no problem casting under 2g.

Re: Shimano BFS rods question

I have a wide range of bfs sticks from UL trout powered rods on up. The shimano bfs rods i've handled have all been on the more powerful side as far as bfs specific bass rods go. I would consider them a L+ or a ML- power. If you think 5g is the lowest you would be going then I'd stay with the ML, a ...

Just got my momo spool in for the ct. https://i.postimg.cc/J4mrJNKQ/20191204-164558.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/bv0S0ykG/20191204-161816.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/SN7KtTj5/20191204-164230.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5NnVCZXx/20191204-170801.jpg Casted this tiny trout magnet 22 steps (about 50ft) in my driv...

Re: Low Profile Baitcaster With Brass Gears

There are a couple JDM options: Shimano Bantam PG 5.5 ratio. Shimano Engetsu PG 5.8 ratio. Daiwa Catalina TW PL-RM 4.9 ratio. (Tackle trap is running a great deal on these currently) If you dont need a lot of line capacity Daiwa alphas CT 6.3 ratio combined with small 30mm spool gives the same IPT a...

Re: The Gold Standard Casting

Since you like that HM black widow why don't you give the x-ray blank silver widow a shot? They have a drop shot specific one but it may be a bit soft for what you are after. The 733 MBR may be a better fit.

Yes 1/8-1/4 is the cosugi best performance range. Does well with a little below as well. https://i.postimg.cc/QMyXbyJ5/20191130-204927.jpg My FC https://i.postimg.cc/c4wBNqKx/20190313-164856.jpg My custom was built by Alex at ALX. 6'1" UL that was themed around the ASC reel. Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

I've had the chance to play with a lot of bfs spools and still have the cosugi and asc spools. Compared to the moving inductor air spools i get more distance with the fixed inductor setups. I have a micro t-rig that weighs just under 2g that i can send a surprising distance with the ASC (hedgehog a...

Re: Daiwa Project T 2020

Man, $600+ for a bfs reel is up there no matter how you look at it. I can put together an aldebaran bfs with a 4.75g avail spool for around $400 and not have the 5 dollar handle look. I don't know if the 4mm smaller spool will make that big of a difference compared to the aldebaran or not but I'll r...
