Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?
90 percent shimano and the rest a mix of diawa and Abu. My Calais are my favorite albeit a tad heavy, second closely by my Chronarch d7s super smooth reels

Re: Kistler Helium or Shimano Cumara
I have 2 cumaras and have owned several kistlers, i'd give the nod to the cumara. The cumara is a great rod for the money. Light/sensitive/cool looking and since they are closing out right now it's a no brainer

Re: Calcutta DC or Calais DC?
I have one of each, like others have said the calcutta DC is a beautiful reel and has a place on my crankbait setup. The Calais DC is a great real that I use mostly throwing texas rigs/carolina rigs, It casts a mile and is smooth was heck

I have both reels and personally I don't think you can go wrong with either. Very smooth reel and the chrome finish just looks awesome.

Re: Shimano chronarch D7, love it
The new chronarchs are horrible, they are lower priced and made with cheap components, they even feel cheap. I bought 2 when they first came out and quickly sold them and puchased a couple cores..... I stand by my original comment "junk"

Shimano chronarch D7, love it
Just thought i'd share my experience with this reel. I bought one 4-5 months ago and never threw it, kinda kept it for a back up for when my other reels needed service. Well I finally took it out and used it..... love the thing. Super smooth, casts great and it just feels right fits my hand like a g...
