strength of the rod
There is any relation between strength of the line (for expl. 8-17lb) shown on the rod and weight that could be lifted by that rod without risk to break it? Or that numbers related to best casting distance? If it is related to weight that could be lifted by that rod without risk to break it, why so ...

Re: Loctite on knots
Locktide or superglue could decrease slippage but how they affect strength of lines? Could they partially dissolve lines or somehow
decrease their strength? IMHO it is require some searching and experiments.

Re: Fluorocarbon question
Thank you, John, May be some lines change their parameters like strength or(and) abrasion resistance in the salt water more than in the fresh. It also could be question of marketing. Like my friend answer on the question "What difference between whisky 7 and 15 years old?" "I haven't idea: all of th...

Fluorocarbon question
I am fishing sometimes from the pier and when big striper or halibut rushing under the pier, line touch the concrete and brake. Therefore I've bought Seaguar Abrazx and only now discover that it is for FRESHWATER. Why I couldn't use it for saltwater? Seaguar divided their products for fresh and salt...

Re: FG knot question
I've been working on getting comfortable tying the FG knot to connect fluoro or mono leaders to my braid. I'm finding it interesting that the knot seems to behave differently in different combinations of line, both size and brand. At this point I have the mechanics of the knot pretty well under con...

Re: Nanofil Discontinued ?
......., I think, is with the ultralight crappie/panfish anglers. I doubt it'll ever be the "go to" line for the bass crowd. And, Sufix's Nanaobraid is smaller at the same tests, round, and a true braided line (for what that is worth) . . . so Nanofil could develop some stiff competition even down ...

Re: Nanofil Discontinued ?
I've used #4 Nanofil very successfully, including #7 brown trout. 1/12 ounce Kastmater flying a mile. I'll regret if Nanofil will discontinue. From where this information? On the EBay and Berkley web http://www.berkley-fishing.com/berkley-line-uni-filament-berkley-nanofil/berkley-nanofil/1285551.htm...

Re: Soft swimbait inline spinner rig?
Yeap. Re-rig Mepps spinners. City off those cheap trebles and put on a nice quality hook. They are not so chip. It is reliable VMC treble. About month ago I've landed 24lb striper on Mepps with same "chip" treble. By the way, majority of seasoned salmon killers using Mepps Flying "C" out of the pac...

Re: Defier Armilo vs. regular Shooter Defier?
Thank you! Probably, you are right. I forget that in Japan is metric system.y2k88 wrote:Probably kilograms on the vertical axis and percent elongation/stretch on the horizontal axis.
In that case Armilo is stronger but less stretching.
Is it has more buoyancy vs.regular Shooter Defier?

Re: Your Most Used Line Size
I think the question is incorrect, because it is depend from kind of fish, conditions like wind, rocks etc., boat or shore fishing, kind of reel, methods of casting, distance, yours wallet size etc.....

Defier Armilo vs. regular Shooter Defier?
sscomparison.png According the graph from http://www.sunlineamerica.com/shooter-defier-armilo/ The 17lb Regular Shooter Defier stretching more and keep bigger stress (about 29lb) vs. 17lb Armilo (about 22lb). As I understanding it, the stress is horizontal and vertical is the strain. Right? P.s. No...

Re: Defier Monofilament vs Super Natural Monofilament
Thanks. In another words, you want to tell that Defier has less memory and it is limp more that SNM. As I understand you have experience with both of them. I didn't used Defier yet, but with SNM I am fishing over 3 years without any problems you mention. Therefore I am curios about how reasonable to...

Re: Defier Monofilament vs Super Natural Monofilament
It's like comparing a chuck eye steak to a filet mignon. The chuck eye satisfies, but the filet mignon makes you hum while you chew it. Could you be more particular in describing of differences? Or it is just imagination that cheapper means worst. My friend who pretend to be a sommelier couldn't fi...
