Re: Looking for a Frogging Rod

Been using the 884 IMX Pro. Really like it, very solid frog rod. I definitely recommend it.

Re: GLX 894 vs 895

It could. I power shot a lot with an 893 - 16 lb fluoro and 1/4 oz.

Re: GLX 894 vs 895

894 handles up to 3/4 oz very well, 895 does not handle 1/4 at all. 895 is a very stout stick and rather tip heavy. 894 is the more versatile of the two by far.

Re: Tranx 200 punching

I like the longer handle, bigger grips, beefier gears, and it could double as a swimbait reel better than the Curado K while having the same frame / profile.

Bantam MGL handle

Anyone know if the Bantam MGL can take a Curado K handle? Like everything about the Bantam except the smaller handle.

Re: What's next for Shimano???

Was just wishing how I kept my Core 100 MG7’s. That would be amazing if the brought out a Core MGL.

Re: GLX 953 punch rod

I think it would be perfect for those applications if you keep it 3/4 and up. I know a guy who uses it for ripping traps on Clear Lake.

Conquest 903 is my dedicated swim jig rod and I throw a 3/8 swim jig everytime I’m on the water.

Re: G Loomis nrx

I fish the Delta 3 days a week and use a Conquest 903 and an NRX 893 for senkos amd the weights you mentioned. 50 pound braid is a bit much for me when Im pitching senkos around tules. I’m more of a 14 fluoro kinda guy. Pulled a 7 pounder out of the tules last week with my 903, 14 fluoro, wacky rigg...

Re: Observations of Conquest 904c vs. NRX894c

I caught a 10 pounder fishing a frog a few weeks ago with the 904 through thick grass. No power issues here. Also caught one just under 10 a month ago during FLW practice with the 904 throwing an A Rig, very versatile. Also caught multiple 2-4's last weekend at Clear Lake pitching a t-rigged craw ar...
