I would guess this rod was designed for cracking tubes for great lakes smallmouth. I’m sure it would be able to pull double duty with senkos.Gone Phishin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:24 pmHas anyone held this stick yet? Thinking 4" and 5" weightless senkos, t-rigged.

Re: New GLX
I played around with the 891s, 841s, and 863s today at a tackle shop. The grip on the spinning rods is smaller than I thought. I have big hands and my index finger would likely be on the blank with a reel stem between my index and middle finger. The rods are super light and blanks are crisp. The 891...

Re: Challenge: Pick 4 NRX Spinning Rods (if you could only carry 4)
I'll have to check out that 841 Inshore! I almost exclusively fish smallmouths and carry four. The four I carry are: NRX 901/ NRX 902/ NRX 842/NRX 872. Those handles from hair jigs and finesse swim baits to drop shot and tubes. The only other spinning in my boat is a 6'8" Medium Zodias that I like ...

Re: Challenge: Pick 4 NRX Spinning Rods (if you could only carry 4)
I played around with a few of the inshore models today at a fishing show and I would give serious thought in replacing the DSR with a 841 inshore model.

They lost me when they replaced torzites with cheap guides and acted like nothing happened.

Re: Sea Guide Components and the St. Croix Problems
it was brought to my attention today on a FB group that they are using sea guide silicon nitride guides instead of fuji titanium torzites on the legend elite and legend x rods, while the prices also went up. i usually love st croix rods, but this is a major downgrade IMO, will definitely not be buy...

Re: NRX 902s vs Steez AGS MML for ned rigs
No experience with any of these rods but do have some limited experience with NRX 872 and own the 821 NRR and 822 SYR which I think share a lot with the NRX 901/902/872 I imagine the 821 fishes almost identically to the 901 and very similarly to the 902 which is soft/parabolic, meaning it's best su...

Re: NRX 902s vs Steez AGS MML for ned rigs
I have an original 902 NRX and the previous gen Steez. The 902 is a moving bait taper to me and is really parabolic. I’d go with the Steez. The 872 is the ned rod in the NRX lineup. The 821 NRX is for the real finesse neds like 3/32 oz.

Has anyone picked one of these up? I'm debating on getting the 6'8 MH spinning rod or waiting for the EG Spider Spin.

Double Spinning Reel Handle
My tournament partner stepped on my Exist's reel handle and bent it. I put a different handle on it from another reel and the reel itself was fine. Is there any benefit to a double reel handle on a spinning reel? What replacement handle would you go with? It seems like it's going to be $100+ for a r...

IMX PRO 843 CBR with an Alphas CT SV 7.2 and 10 lb Sniper. This should be getting a workout this weekend with water temps being cold.

Pick up a tin of tungsten putty. You can make the 110 do whatever you want whether it's a horizontal slow suspend, heads up suspend, etc.

I like an IPT of ~30” for frogging. It’s easier to over work a frog with anything that brings in more line.Hobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 4:26 pmAlthough that is true, frogging is another technique that a fast gear ratio helpsBronzeye wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 3:40 pmHobie-Wan Kenobi wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:12 pmFrigging is another area where fast is nice to have.

I have never fished the rod, but I actually looked online about this for the past week or so because I was in the market for one. It seems like the consensus was the X7 Super Eiger.

Re: new evergreen rod?
I knew they were coming out with a new Jack Hammer rod a few months ago when I talked to Ben from THUT. I was asking why he didn't stock JDM Evergreen rods and he let the cat out of the bag by accident. It might be worth trying. There's not many rods out there for $450 that have titanium Fuji guide...
