Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

I thought it was an old Tatula at 1st because the top of the frame is so flat but has the Steez logo on the face plate. Looks to be some new Steez reel. What's the time i...

Could be the lighter Steez I mentioned earlier. Let's hope so.

Re: Post Deployment Present

Do you know what handle grip he used for this? I can't tell if it's carbon or EVA. Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks nice whatever it is

I assumed it was just the predictable Tatula 100 SV, which will inevitably come out.

My thoughts as well

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

I was just told that Daiwa is perhaps coming out with a smaller, lighter version of the Steez SV TW. He didn't elaborate though. Perhaps a Type R? Tell us more SB!

Re: Finesse Baitcasting

I believe there is finesse / bfs - ultra light and light action rods with 2 - 6 lb line, upwards to 1/8 oz. I believe once you strap on your 1/8 oz rig with a piece of plastic that totals out at 3/16 to 5/16 oz, now you traveled into "power finesse" territory imo, which generally consists ...

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?

Another really solid option would be the Steez SV TW or Zillion SV TW with a Zpi Nrc001-m spool. Can accommodate and excel with 1/8 oz, but provides you with plenty of line for most situations.

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?

That's why the SS Light Limited is a special reel. Extra line capacity than a typical bfs reel, but still bfs capable. Imo, the spool is pretty special, and perfect for bfs (1/8), and power finesse. I put one in my Alphas Air, and it's one of my favorite reels. Can cover quite the range with it. Ho...

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, wanna fish lure down to 1/8 oz. with this very light weight lure both reel and rod are crucial. if money is no object I say why not get a true BFS reel which can handle the weight you want and even lower. One thing to remember BFS reel come with super shallow sp...

Re: Do I need a BFS reel?

If your most often used bait is an 1/8 oz spinnerbait, then yes, you should absolutely get a bfs reel. If you can swing it, take a look at the Daiwa SS Light Limited. It's perfect for your wheelhouse
